Deer Creek '00 (Distante)

Following up the last two downloads, this show completes Phish’s three-night run at Deer Creek in 2000. The second set featured, perhaps, the three most-often payed songs of summer in “Jibboo, “Sand,” and “Twist.” The strong playing of the second set continued with “Fee > What’s the Use? > Limb.”

I: Cars Trucks Buses , Wilson, It’s Ice, Bathtub Gin, Buffalo Bill, My Mind’s Got a Mind of its Own, Split Open and Melt, Sparkle, Funky Bitch, David Bowie

II: Gotta Jibboo, Sand, Twist, Fee > What’s the Use? > Limb By Limb, Loving Cup

E: Run Like an Antelope

I hear ya Garret, I’m the one with an alarm in 4.5 hours and a presentation in front of 50 people in 7 hours. I should sleep now 🙁 but I just want to dream about deer creek and a weekend without responsibilities.

calm before the storm might make good background music for you presentation tomorrow.

what are you listening to now?

  3. joe Says:

if they really read the board, they need to drop a 30 minute mr. completely at the greek. (while wearing blue berets)

    Dream of being free

Indio exile. First time in a while. Been on a Sam Cooke, Billy Preston, Sharon jones kick. Seemed a perfect transition.

There’s no music that could make tomorrow interesting. I might fall asleep while talking.

Piano’s going well enough – I still haven’t found anyone to jam with, but I am taking Piano 3 this upcoming school year (which I’m kind of nervous about) – I was just playing like 30mins ago.

There is an Advanced Music Studies program, which takes up half of the school day, and I’m probably going to take that Senior year. You have to be recommended/pass the audition to take the course though, so I’ll definitely have to work on my composition chops a lot more than I have been.

Piano 3 is a pretty advanced class for composition and playing, so I might want to have private tutor lessons as well. But I guess we’ll have to wait and see…I can’t believe I’m starting 11th grade already, time slips by fast for sure.

  19. fatbunch Says:

Hey @BK you still up? I made it down to CA today after all. It’s a long way from our late night chat from the hospital 8 days ago! Hardest part about tomorrow will be trying NOT to dance… back is doing OK but have to take it seriously easy! One night only – but one night in the presence of the flow, as you know…. 😉

  20. BrandonKayda Says:

What’s up man? Glad to hear you’re at CA after all the trouble. Hope you have a fantastic night – my prediction for Greek: Three nights of extremely hot Phish.

  21. fatbunch Says:

@locust, if you’re out there… I made it! Will be thinkin of you. B is really excited to stay at your place – thanks again! Hope you guys are having a good trip.

  22. fatbunch Says:

Thanks @BK! I think that the next three nights we are going to see some serious energy exchange going on!!! I bet they are as excited as we are. Do you remember the gorge Pollock posters last year with the crowd hearing the fish and then the fish eating the crowd?

  23. [an unrelated] Wilson Says:

    live in SF

  24. fatbunch Says:

^ eating… the crowd eats the phish

  25. BrandonKayda Says:

No I never did see those posters – sound pretty cool though. I imagine the Greek vibe/shows will be much like The Gorge last year – resulting in a massive improvisational throwdown of Phish 😀

Oh, and if they do end up doing a GD tune (if they don’t do a subtle jam or something, which would be cooler IMO) at Greek/Telluride, I definitely wouldn’t mind an Ocelot->Loser. That’d be a nice first set highlight for sure. Love that song

If I had a gun for every ace I’ve drawn, I’d could arm a town the size of Abeline…
