Deer Creek '00 (Distante)

Following up the last two downloads, this show completes Phish’s three-night run at Deer Creek in 2000. The second set featured, perhaps, the three most-often payed songs of summer in “Jibboo, “Sand,” and “Twist.” The strong playing of the second set continued with “Fee > What’s the Use? > Limb.”

I: Cars Trucks Buses , Wilson, It’s Ice, Bathtub Gin, Buffalo Bill, My Mind’s Got a Mind of its Own, Split Open and Melt, Sparkle, Funky Bitch, David Bowie

II: Gotta Jibboo, Sand, Twist, Fee > What’s the Use? > Limb By Limb, Loving Cup

E: Run Like an Antelope

could you explain the record companies and the producers of some of the stuff you have on your mediafire?

I was reading a little about the Numero Group.

I know nothing about the recording business, but I am very curious about some of the compilations you have.

  2. Leo Weaver Says:

No doubt KP…and thanks to your talents and this wonderful technology we now have, I can really enjoy the recordings. And ya know, now I can afford a hotel room or three as opposed to sleeping in the car.

  3. Halden Says:

I do a combo of stream and reading setlists. I would LOVE a pay to watch or listen option.

  4. Robear Says:

thx brotha’. grabbing Luis and Dimona.

i don’t even bother with the live streaming….until they roll out an official, HD stream with SBD audio i cannot deal with the streams. i mean, it’s kinda cool knowing it’s happening NOW, but as far as trying to hear the music well….bleh.

I spend at least a few minutes everyday kicking myself for seeing shows instead of college and a career

graduating from college at 29 and being a 30 year old intern was no fun for this kid. starting from so far behind everyone else in my field.

grass is always greener it seems

what can you do. my ass wasn’t making anything close to mature decisions in my 20’s.

  7. kenny powers Says:

    good points AW.

  8. Robear Says:

that’ 7/10/00 was a smoker too. overshadowed by the ‘moby dick’ set. so it goes.

    my first ‘What’s the Use’

Couch here. It’s really hard for me to believe they haven’t come up with some sort of subscription model for streaming shows or the tour officially. The technology is there. I don’t think it would stop people from attending the shows, but for those of us who can’t travel regularly, it would a nice alternative. Money for them and $$$ for us. What’s the downside?

Silly, a lot of it is from Numero Group, a label based in Chicago that goes and finds really obscure funk, soul, gospel, folk, rock, hip hop, etc. music, does the research, finds the artists (so they get paid) and rereleases the music with great packaging. I buy on site, usually, if I can afford it. They also have some interesting video projects and a great book of photos from southside chicago funk clubs in the 70’s. My favorite label, for sure.

Other stuff is just from lots of small labels that I follow, i get into obscure electronic music and reggae and such, my nerdy habit.

“For reggae, the Watch How the People Dancing comp is hot, more on a digital vibe but very soulful and good for the dance, very upbeat and uplifting. Ladies dig it too.” angryjoggerz

^^Hell, yes, ladies dig this. I was playing this while helping my girl pack. Two songs in, and she was grinding all up on me.

4 songs in and… well, we weren’t working (at least on moving stuff)

on the couch till Jones Beach. Will attempt no spoilers for the greeks due to 3 hour time difference. Not going to stay up till 2am to read a setlist or listen to shit stream.

  13. Leo Weaver Says:

@AW…can’t really argue with that bro! Grass is surely always greener. We’re all playing catch up in one way or another. Thanks again for the no whitey mixes…really been diggin’ ’em.

I’m doing couch tour, but by bhizzle’s rules stated above. iClips stream would be phenomenal.

  14. angryjoggerz Says:

    Nice, I got silly laid.

“Not going to stay up till 2am to read a setlist or listen to shit stream.”

    yes you will

  16. Robear Says:

In case you all care, Friday @ the Greek will be #90 for Stoney Case

  17. Spasm Waiter Says:

Eating HPs and couch touring til JB.

  18. SillyWilly Says:

    thats really cool.

I am very passionate about buying fair trade, and this seems like the Music Industry’s version of a fairly traded product.

    Thats a great idea.

  19. Leo Weaver Says:

I’m with ya @Palmer re: west coast shows. Tough to keep the bane-heavy lids open much past 11-11:30 est these days.

  20. Leo Weaver Says:

So @Stoney Case…no DC for you?

  21. Spasm Waiter Says:

Streams are an unbearable exercise in frustration.

  22. Jtran Says:

    Morning everyone!

Loving Miner’s mix today, track 4 gets really nice. Hopefully he’ll drop the setlist later today.

Couch tour for me until JB as well. Psyched to read in my email this morning that the beach is 2 minutes from the lot…anyone know if they have fresh water shows right there as well, or should I stock up on water to rinse off with?

  23. Frankie Says:

On dial-up internet until sunday at the folks country house so I will watch the setlists roll by and try not to listen to new Phish until my next shows at Deer Creek… unless they play a 40 minutes Waves… 🙂

  24. SillyWilly Says:

I know you regret it, but look at me.

I am doing everything the way I am supposed to, but I am not satisfied by any means.

Im seriously jealous of people like you. You have built up experiences already that many people won’t achieve in lifetimes.

FWIW, I have a blast everytime I chill with you because you have some much knowledge of music and such cool stories to tell about touring

AND, it looks like you’ve got it pretty well figured out. You and K have a great thing going.

I guess what I mean is from my perspective, You’ve done what I wish I could do.

  25. Robear Says:

will be on couch tour for the midwest and JB, Leo.
