Halcyon upped: Darondo – Let My People Go
1) That set is absolutely incredible. Amazing funky R&B stuff.

Like the album, this interview is a M-U-S-T listen! If you couldn’t tell from Halcy’s great description of the man, Darondo was/is a certified maniac.

Alpine’s DWD>WTU>Scent
I too liked the Scent, as nowadays it’s a bit unusual to hear -a sharp n concise version (or so I thought thru the pod)
Either way DWD>WTU slays old skool style. Sure, it doesn’t have the freshy new creative vibe ala Light, BDTNL (Blossom/JB), or 3.0 Pipers (the most re-invented older tune, IMO), but it doesn’t matter -it’s still a white hot facemelter
Not sure any 3.0 DWD sounds as radically new as, say, the 3.0 Pipers, but that’s not a slight -DWD is a timeless phish song for me, always loved the tune & always will

^ its worthwhile….23 beast albums…once people listen and they have preferences, I have WAY more music to share of y’all want it.
and the torrent is mostly not fast psytrance (145 bpm and up)….mostly psy-ambient/dub..with some dance floor killers as well
my fav DWD from 3.0 is still from hampton 3. Pure Magic!

Yeah, I suspect my words may not have properly captured how I feel about the 3.0 DWDs, as the best new versions are top shelf phish all the way
Put another way, a good DWD was always able to strike deep within me, and the new 3.0 versions continue to pierce into my soul just as deeply, thus my love for the song has never wavered across the eras of phish.
so…this has probably been discussed, but cee lo green’s new song fuck you is the catchiest thing i’ve heard in a while. just putting that out there. everyone who hasn’t listened to it, should definitely listen to it.
Ridesharing it threw PA listening to Jam on’s Alpharetta shows.
Told the dudes in the car about PH journeys, btb fest etc. And I’m pretty sure I killed forty five minutes of the trip back from NYC.

I don’t put up with seat saving at GA shows beyond a very small and very reasonable limit.
Hampton 09, some guy was saving multiple rows with stuff like cookies and small tissue packets on the seats. I said sorry buddy, and tossed him the shit off two seats so we could sit down. He went nuts, but that’s just how it is. Your friends are outside, I’m in here. I win.
There’s a limit to seat saving (I’d say 1 present person for every seat saved), and tarps go way the fuck beyond it.
