O'Connell Center - Gainesville, FL

In the days following their transformative Halloween in Atlanta, Phish headed back to Florida with Karl Perazzo along for his third and fourth consecutive shows. After their well-documented escapade at Coral Sky in West Palm Beach, the band played this show at the University of Florida in Gainesville. Perazzo played his final two sets before Phish traveled to the Midwest, off and running on their percussive pathway to 1997. Remain In Light took immediate effect as the band continued their collaborative grooving. Check out the late-set “Tweezer” for a show-stopping  highlight featuring this  emerging style of improv.

Jam of the Weekend:

Mike’s Song” 10.29.96 II

Phish blew up this second set “Mike’s Song” in Tallahassee, Florida, the show before Halloween. The band got some down-low practice during “Mike’s” second jam as they grooved significantly on Talking Head’s “Houses In Motion.” With Karl Perazzo on board, this piece really took off.

    Coffee and Stash…heaven.

  4. JMelby Says:

The 10-29 Mikes is why Trey was smiling so big as he sang “some of you just about missed it.” at the Omni. Off to work.

  5. El Duderino Says:

Last official weekend of Summer ’10 folks!

    Make it one to remember.

  6. Mr.Palmer Says:

Bring on the Fall ! Football and Phish tour….

    Tweezer>Cities 12.31.98.. $$$

  7. El Duderino Says:

    Mornin’ Fellas 🙂

I haven’t spun the ’98 MSG NYE run in years…

    hmmm….

Seems a little early to be jamming Phish though.
Might need something more soothing/less abrasive

  8. Mr.Palmer Says:

Dude- some peeps were talking it up last night so i had to spin little myself. re: ’98 nye run

That being said . 4.11.78 Terrapin then Iko Iko will do the trick for me this am…

  9. Emperor Palpatine Says:

1996 Fall tour was $$$ one of the best Florida runs ever.

  10. El Duderino Says:

Just went back to the database and looked at the sources available for the 4 night MSG run…

Carrion Crow sources are the “ones” to have except for the pitch corrected sbd of the 29th.

  11. El Duderino Says:

    @ Palmer

    There you go!

Terrapin has a nice flow for the AM.

Anyone here the new OJ show source???

From what I read, it might only be the second set that’s the actual new source. The first set is the AKG 460b/CK 61’s

  12. El Duderino Says:

    hear, sorry.
    Wake and Bake
    Hippie Speedball

  13. Robear Says:

    hey duder,

I need an upgrade for 12/31/98 (sorry Palmer, I re-started the ’98 NYE kick yesterday. well, not really sorry)

I have never heard a really good source for that one.

    http://bt.etree.org/details.php?id=523782

Is this the source you recommend @ Duder? I was going to try out KP’s remaster.

Soothing Phish? Try ‘Sleep Again’ from the Greek.

Miner, any chance of getting the 11/3/96 ‘Tweezer’ as a JOTD?

  14. El Duderino Says:

    @ Robear

    Good Morning 🙂

    Yes, that’s the one!

KP did a remaster of that source???

  15. El Duderino Says:

Good aud. pulls are difficult in a room of that size.

  16. Robear Says:

yeah duder, as far as I can tell.

  17. El Duderino Says:

Just did a side by side taste test of the new OJ source -vs- the AKG 460b source…

    Stick with the AKG’s

    that is all

  18. El Duderino Says:

    Yep.
    That’s the one.
There is that same source for the 30th too.

  19. El Duderino Says:

and a Schoeps MK4 FOB for the 28th.

  20. El Duderino Says:

The new 7/24/99 AV KM 184’s are definitely better than the other Neumann 184’s in circulation. These are clearer by far.

  21. Cushion Convector Says:

    Happy Weekend All!

I will be dl’ing that AKG OJ source, I am pumped!

As it is the early evening where I am at, I just finished the 2000.06.09 Tweezer and holllyyy cowww, talk about multiple peaks that thing is an epic!

Always appreciative of the solid recommendations I see on here so if you haven’t spun this Tweezer it is a must!

  22. Jtran Says:

    Morning BB

    Last post last night: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqcwor6Jg94

    11/22/97 Halley’s JAM

A couple weeks back I remember posting/complaining about the video on youtube of the song, but it only included about a minute of the jam. This is an upgrade 🙂

Starting off today where I left off last night, set 2 12/31/98. Set 1 $$$, loved the second jam in Mike’s and Ghost. 1999 opener was great too.

  23. butter Says:

    hey, morning guys

just starting the wake with the coffee…..bake will be coming

dark clouds here Robear, no rain yet , but looming

  24. Robear Says:

Jtron, the first set from 12/31/98 = Candy. Need to grab KP’s remaster today. As a fan, I had a real epiphany that night. THe cherry on top of the evening was the glowstick rings being converted into the glow worm that travelled the entire MSG top to bottom, round and round, multiple times. Where are the ophicial vid releases from that show? They must have caught some footage..

Thanks to all for seeding the 7/6/98 FOB last night. Downloaded while I was sleeping. No bandwidth restrictions after midnight!

  25. Jtran Says:

That would’ve been a sight to see.

This Tweezer is classic late 90s groove factory.
