Some beautiful music to start the week…

This haunting and exploratory version is one of “Reba’s” most impressive outings.

Slave” 11.29.95 II – Nashville, TN (w/ Bela Fleck)

A gorgeous collaboration with Bela Fleck on banjo.

Harry Hood” 11.16.96 II – Omaha, NE

A version made famous by “the note” that Trey holds for almost four minutes, this “Harry Hood” showcases a band locked, loaded and inspired during November of ’96.

YEM” 11.14.98 II – Cincinatti, OH

In this relative dark-horse from Fall ’98, Trey loops a rhythm pattern and narrates an expressive solo atop his own – and Phish’s – dynamic groove.

    I third.

You’re still an extremely heady dude, Mitch.

Just got back to see Mitch’s post.

    Sorry, man.

Gets better with time as Im sure you know.

  2. Mr. Completely Says:

that’s part of what this place is for Mitch

we moved away from being just a place to yack about music a long time ago

you don’t really sound all that emo

    emo = whining

you sound down, understandably, but not full of pissy self-pity. trying to make the best of it.

NYC is a tough place to make it work, living expenses wise

  3. willowed Says:

I forgot to say hello to everyone. So…Hello
I think this is the first time I have posted all freakin’ day.

  4. Mitch Says:

nay is the right response to are there any objections

eye, i, or ai, however the hell you spell it, aye, is what you say when he asks for a second.

…assuming you’re cool with the notion

  5. SillyWilly Says:

Why aye, Why aye, Why aye, Man.

    Mark Knopfler, anyone?

  6. Mr. Completely Says:

there being no objections, the motion carries.

[pulls fat tube in lieu of gavel banging]

Mitch’s headiness rating is to be held at previously observed levels until further notice, possible upward adjustments not included.

    so don’t sweat that part.

  7. Jtran Says:

    Or 10/23…

  8. SillyWilly Says:

As long as we’re seconding things I’d like to also second what Mr. C said about this being more than just a place to yack about music.

I know I’ve relied on this board for more than just music.

  9. Mr. Completely Says:

    knopfler? sure why not.

    ======

@willowed, way to eke out a win against the mighty Bills

    😮

  10. Mitch Says:

i’ve gone through bitter rants but try and keep them to myself. i’m def bummed. i’m not sitting at home listening to depressing music and sheeeit. i understand where shes coming from and am not holding her back from it. we still love each other and it seems to be hard on us both. i think it’d be easier if we hated each other. never broken up like this before.

and i’m not doing all that bad, we just got a place that was outside of my ideal living price cause we were splitting it. at the end of the day tho, i’m the one here alone and have a habit of filling my cc with phish tix that need to get paid back. cramping my social style. ya dig? $1400 rent is not something i’d like to keep up for too long.

robear, this is another one of those times that fate is directing me at water wheel. right?

  11. Mitch Says:

one thing i am gonna try tho while we have time apart is to get hired on by phish so i can do the whole tour. gonna talk to the powers that be next time i’m at a show.

i figure now is as good a time as any. no girl, no kids, no dog. i can talk to work about giving me a month or two off and then i can see the whole thing. see what working shows is all about.

    ….. pipe dream

  12. willowed Says:

    I know C.
    Not what I was expecting.
Brady looked freakin’ money though. I think he was like 25-28 or some shit.
The offense will score points, the defense just has to limit the scores.

  13. willowed Says:

    Hey Mitch.
I don’t have time to go back and read but I can put 2 and 2 together. Hope you’re doing OK brother.

  14. Jtran Says:

    @Mitch

My only real break up was one of those going separate ways but still love each other deals. Extremely hard to deal with, hard to understand sometimes. Hang in there, it only gets easier.

  15. SillyWilly Says:

I think you can hang your hat on the fact that you’re really being a good guy, Mitch, by not making it harder on her or you than it has to be.

When the pain subsides youll be very proud of yourself for that.

  16. Mr. Completely Says:

yep Brady looked like himself again based on the highlights I watched. That’s key, obviously. Though you can count me in the group that says the Pats are doomed in the long run if he keeps that ludicrous haircut.

Bills didn’t have the players on D to test the running game without Faulk, and since they were starting a new QB it’s hard to say if all the yards were due to that, or real defensive problems with the Pats.

damn and next week is Miami! fucking A, is the AFC East an interesting division or what!

  17. willowed Says:

Don’t worry about the money thing Mitch. We’ll be in AC in a month all cranked up at the craps table. I can see us playing for 20 straight hours. We’ll win big and be able to cover your rent for at least six months 😉

  18. Jtran Says:

That Pats D is gonna be a problem down the road.

  19. Mr. Completely Says:

ooooh man what @silly said, yeah.

for Goddess’ sake one of you northeastern peeps roll up on Mitch and smoke him the fuck out, and soon….

east coast BB needs to represent right now

you know the west coast crew would get it done if he was out here

we beleive in you, but we need to see your game, people

respect is earned and not given, yo

  20. RamblinOnMyMind Says:

Best wishes to you, Mitch. Obviously nobody will be happy in that kind of situation, but it sounds like your head is in the right place and you won’t get sucked into that spiral of self-pity that leads to Elliott Smith on repeat for days on end, which I know a bit too well.

  21. willowed Says:

the running game will be a problem when the weather changes in Foxborough.
    Not to mention the playoffs.
No running game along with a weak defense = no super bowl.
Eve though that kid Ben Jarvis Green Ellis Attorney’s at Law looked OK.

  22. BingosBrother Says:

Neti Pot FTW you beautiful motherfuckers! pressure not totally gone but feel better than I have in about 12 days. Muchos gracias Muchachos!

I love you Mitch. Seriously. 😯

  23. Mr. Completely Says:

with running backs you never know

sometimes you bring in the backup and he just blows it up

happens at every position of course but seems like it’s more with RBs

    maybe you’ll get lucky

starting to think week 1 was the fluke and the Jets are kinda for real though

  24. willowed Says:

OK won’t cut it against the Steeers and Ravens. Cancel that….
Ravens are garbage…I’m not worried about them

  25. Jtran Says:
