Monday Morning Music

12.29.09 (Wendy Rogell)

Some beautiful music to start the week…

Reba” 5.16.95 – Lowell, MA

This haunting and exploratory version is one of “Reba’s” most impressive outings.

Slave” 11.29.95 II – Nashville, TN (w/ Bela Fleck)

A gorgeous collaboration with Bela Fleck on banjo.

Harry Hood” 11.16.96 II – Omaha, NE

A version made famous by “the note” that Trey holds for almost four minutes, this “Harry Hood” showcases a band locked, loaded and inspired during November of ’96.

Sneakin’ Sally” 8.8.98 I – Merriweather Post

Some swanky funk from the first set of Merriweather ’98.

YEM” 11.14.98 II – Cincinatti, OH

In this relative dark-horse from Fall ’98, Trey loops a rhythm pattern and narrates an expressive solo atop his own – and Phish’s – dynamic groove.

Hang in there, Mango. ALL is fundamentally well.

When having a hard time or at some major crossroad, I generally ask myself one simple question: WWNCD? (What would Nic Cage do) and the answers appear. 8)

The Samples are my go to feeling sorry for myself music.

    I know.

    It’s bad.

    But, sometimes I go there.

I don’t think you’ve sunk to Samples level, Mitch.

    so you’re good.

Ravens D is not yet fully tested

we’ll learn a little about them against the Steelers, even without Rapelisberger

Ravens O is a joke though and will doom them

    Don’t buy the hype

    Flacco is no Trent Dilfer

Steelers are the juggernaut. Mark it.

  7. Mitch Says:

Hey sage, how bout that uplifting shit? Kthxbai

  8. Mr.Palmer Says:

If Sanchez doesn’t make mistakes, the Jets can do some damage.

Kaya- reading back earlier. Vick, best QB in the league.. come on now. You Philly guys are something else. 🙂 He might me the worst QB in the division: I’d take Manning, Romo, and McNabb over him right now.

BTW- i’m just busting stones…kind of.

  9. SillyWilly Says:

    haha. Not quite, Jtran.

    working on summer employment.

    Portland Public Defender’s Office.

and Legal Voice Organization in Seattle are calling my name.

Just gotta convince them that my 3.17 GPA doesn’t matter.

it’s weird how employers actually look at grades…who knew??

  10. SillyWilly Says:

    Big game in Chickawgoh tonight.

Cheeseheads nervously pacing the streets of Madison.

  11. Mitch Says:

Agree re: nick drake. I’ve been avoiding my depressing music. Not trying to have the crying game going on round here.

I will say “sleep again” has found new meaning

  12. Mitch Says:

I take manning over anyone too. Go horse.

  13. Jtran Says:

I’m so bad at the internet. Silly, my comment was a continuation of my one from the last page in regards to willowed.

Now I’m trying to figure out how my partial response elicited yours haha

  14. Mr. Completely Says:

Romo, come on, that man was born to lose big games

    @mitch – oh the cliches?

    uh, lemons > lemonade

    darkest before the dawn…?

or, all joking aside, my favorite true cliche:

    This too shall pass.

    It just will.

  15. RamblinOnMyMind Says:

@C – the odds for another RB to blow up for the Pats are decent given their offensive line – maybe that dude Woodhead. And the tight ends have looked great. I’m not worried about the offense, but that secondary needs to improve. It’s scary to think about what a QB like Peyton could do to those guys right now.

  16. SillyWilly Says:

    Ohhh, my bad, Jtran.

I thought you were making fun of me for being a law student and for listening to The Samples (which I deserve).

connection was weak and couple that with the fact that you weren’t even talking to me…

so yeah. that was my bad.

I’ll tell you who really represents on the east coast. A friend of mine that I met last summer only to find out later that shes been friends with Gdad for over 20 years. Used to see the dead with him back in th day.

no surprise there, right? She kicked down a tootsie roll of hash last week after i’d been saying on here how much i wanted some hash when someone mentioned it. synchronicity.

  19. Mr. Completely Says:

unfortunately @mitch, when he said “manning” he actually meant Eli

damn, the NFC east sucks hairy sweaty donkey balls!

  20. Mr. Completely Says:

hahahaha wow yes of course @gdad’s friend is there with the high power hookup

anyone who is surprised by that, I have a clue for sale, and you need one

@silly, really trying to get a job in PDX?

don’t bother answering now, I have to go right this sec

    peace y’all

  21. vegas wolfmans Says:

^and “phish slow jams” playlist. at least that’s what I call mine.

  22. Mr.Palmer Says:

Yeah, I hate the cowboys and Romo more than anything. I’m just not ready to anoint the dog killer the best qb in the division yet. Of the 4 QBs in the NFC east, if i need to win one game it’s Eli. I know everyone loves to hate on him. He has gotten better every year and the numbers bear that out. Plus, he’s won the big game. Kid’s got ice water in his veins.

  23. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

unus) willlowed, let me know if you still aren’t getting the info
duo) gotta say I was impressed with my Bills, even in the loss. CJ Spiller is electric. get the man the ball more, Chan!!
tres) Though you can count me in the group that says the Pats are doomed in the long run if he keeps that ludicrous haircut. might want to check your own emo-ness with a comment like that, mRc.
quattor) buck up, Mitch. if I was within an hour of you, I’d be there and I haven’t even met you yet. this too shall pass, hopefully soon and in the way you want it to…

  24. Mr. Completely Says:

spoken like a man that either hasn’t seen the haircut in question, or has one like it.

  25. Mitch Says:

i forget eli is a manning. they just don’t compare.

i have ryan adams and nick drake in that list.

i should just put blood on the tracks on repeat and get all bitter. or ryan adams on and slit my wrists.

i like “all things must pass” that one was brought up by another buddy. the george version of this to shall pass
