Monday Morning Music

12.29.09 (Wendy Rogell)

Some beautiful music to start the week…

***

Reba” 5.16.95 – Lowell, MA

This haunting and exploratory version is one of “Reba’s” most impressive outings.

***

Slave” 11.29.95 II – Nashville, TN (w/ Bela Fleck)

A gorgeous collaboration with Bela Fleck on banjo.

Harry Hood” 11.16.96 II – Omaha, NE

A version made famous by “the note” that Trey holds for almost four minutes, this “Harry Hood” showcases a band locked, loaded and inspired during November of ’96.

Sneakin’ Sally” 8.8.98 I – Merriweather Post

Some swanky funk from the first set of Merriweather ’98.

YEM” 11.14.98 II – Cincinatti, OH

In this relative dark-horse from Fall ’98, Trey loops a rhythm pattern and narrates an expressive solo atop his own – and Phish’s – dynamic groove.

oh, I live here, mRc. it’s all the locals can talk about. but let’s put it this way: if your brazilian super model wife whose income makes your amazing salary look like chump change said she wanted you to keep it, you would too, amiright? and don’t get all “oh, I’m my own man and my lady knows she can’t control me” here. brazilian supermodel ftw

you decide how serious I am ๐Ÿ˜‰

shouldn’t monday night football be on a channel we all have? nbc, cbs or abc???

When you read back, Mr. C:

Yes, I am looking for a summer internship in Portland.

I am also looking in Seattle and Eugene.

I want to know if that is a place I could live in the future, and there’s a lot of good non-profits/state public defender offices in the Northwest. There’s also a lot Wisconsin Law grads in the Northwest.

I am almost certain I want to work as a public defender. It’s a career that you need to demonstrate an interest in doing (so our career services office tells me). So, Im trying to find an office that needs help.

It might have to be in rural Wisconsin this summer, but it’s still early so I can dream.

don’t know how you feel about the Avett Brothers Mitch, but here is their new live record. much love brother.

    @Mitch

Sorry to hear about the lady situation man.

    Insert “uplifting” cliche here.

Would this be a bad time to ask about crashing with you for NYE run? Cause I can totally ask again another time if it is…

  9. Mitch Says:

    garret,
let me make sure i am for sure keeping this place. if i do keep it, there may be 4-6 people in line ahead of you. and i only have one bathroom…

tho, it could be a rager!!! too bad i don’t have those days off. i’ll come home and everyone will have crashed my spot while i’m gone at work.

Hey Mitch, sorry to hear about your shake up on the home front. Never an easy thing to go through, this is a good time to rely on friends. And put down the James Taylor albums. Slowly now. Very cool that we have a place to vent personal stuff and understanding people to cheer you up when you need it most More good vibes sent your way.

My first post of the day, so thank you Miner for this surprise Monday five pack. I love this Reba and the Slave with Bela hits a sweet spot with me.

even though the intent of each comment is irrelevant to the other, the fact that these are consecutive is just pure comedic gold.

  12. garretc Says:

Word Mitch, just keep me posted. I won’t be offended if it doesn’t work out…

  13. Mitch Says:

i dunno what bear down means…

  14. Mitch Says:

    sounds like a yoga position

  15. Mitch Says:

tho i thought he meant buckle down

  16. halcyon Says:

?!?#$?%? I am working nights this week, and we have a tv in our office that I can have on as background noise to listen to the game, and of course espn & espn 2 do not work. GRRRRRR.

I still have an ipod loaded to listen to, but was looking forward to listening to this game.

  17. jdub Says:

Hard to pass off the PTBM ticket designs as an artistic whim. Are the GH songs in order? I saw Broomfield has a Llama theme but haven’t seen the others yet.

  18. Mitch Says:

the band had stout do a llama theme for the telly poster too.

sunrise over the turquoise mtns, messenger birds in sight

  19. halcyon Says:

Nate Duval – known poster artist has designed the tickets Jdub. Apparently each show/city is unique. I am sure he has also done a poster for this tour as well.

  20. Mitch Says:

i really like duvals work. i have a few of his non phish prints around

he’s the same guy that did fenway, portland 09 and mansfield this year. he also did trey and mike posters.

i tend to like his non phish work better than his phish stuff but these tix are looking good.

  21. jdub Says:

I’m a fan of his graphic style. A bit retro in some regard. Broomfield tickets are one of the better ticket designs of 3.0.

  22. angryjoggerz Says:

Hey all, hope everyone is well. I had a big day, put in my resignation of my job that I have been doing for 11 years. Have a new one that I will start in November, big tings going on. Pretty excited and nervous at the same time. My staff cried, which was hard. Oh well, on to the new.

  23. Mitch Says:

    way to go AJ!!!! w00t!!!

  24. Dr. Pronoia Says:

Congratulations AJ! Probably more than a little bittersweet though huh? 11 years of relationships are hard to end.

Sometimes the sage just has to wander, ya know?

    NOW GO BEARS!

  25. jdub Says:

@Joggerz, So does the new job include visits to China? Always nice to leave a job on your terms.
