Keeping in line with the musical theme of the day, this show from New Haven Coliseum during Fall ’98 features a rather large “Ghost,” as part of a powerful, set-opening “Ghost > Halley’s > Tweezer” triumvirate.

II: Ghost > Halley’s Comet > Tweezer > Possum, Wading in the Velvet Sea, Character Zero

*w/ Dude of Life on vocals

“why did he have to die on my 21st birthday”
^ That’s the line that kept coming to me in the days following Jerry’s passing.
Maybe that was just selfish, though
Luv me some Greek Tweezer. Even if you’re sitting, you got to do the chicken head thing. The Hershey Tweezer is similar in intent IMO.
mmm. Greek Tweezer. Best of summer? Yes.
My oh my Kaya… nice call on that 4.2.73 Sunshine.. beauty
All of my old crew who have yet to return to Phish have been sent copies of Greek night 3 along w/ a note asking them if they can continue to turn a blind ear to Phish after listening.
All but 1 have asked for more shows from me. It’s just that damn good!
Hey BB – how’s it going?
Liking the GD convo tonight – I need to listen to them after I get out of all of the dark, psychedelic Phish jams I’m trying to listen to.
Today I listened to:
7.23.99 Birds
6.15.00 Disease (twice – both times on the bus going to school/going home)
Tomorrow it’s:
11.23.97 Bathtub Gin
7.2.97 Stash
Then after that probably 11.26.94 Bowie and 6.14.95 Tweezer
The Grateful Dead have produced some of the darkest, psychedelic jams EVER. Ever I say.
@BB: re. 7-23-99 birds .. definitely a keeper.
7-2-97 — arguably best stash ever and top 10 (five?) improvisational jams ever.
interesting, i too had the exact same Tal experience: who the hell is *this* chick??
meant: @BK.
@kaya
The Hershey matrix I was talking about last week might just be $$$ to your ears me thinks. Close your eyes and you’re there.
I need Worcester a seat….
Am I going to have to whore myself out?
BTW:
Hershey was balls
Sorry:
I need a Worcester seat
ahhhh, the chocolate city throwdown. don’t need a matri to be there with eyes closed. circle of BBers doing an unsynchronized tribal dance.
llfa… still reading back… and yes, I too am in love with Tal
Send me an email @kaya and I’ll send you a copy. sbreckel @ aol.com
Also:
New Haven ’98 was sick.
My first show: 11.26.97 was basically reprised in New Haven in ’98.
Tweezer opened the ’97 show and this New Haven show threw the Tweezer>Prise segment out again…
I truly felt a passion for this band after the ’98 NH show.
I recall distinctly Dude on vocals and the Possum (likely b/c it followed the Tweezer…)
for hershey tickets for our entire mega crew were not needed. went in through a non-door right into venue. no ?’s asked.
I carry a picture of Tal in my wallet.
Kaya was there for Hershey…
If anyone wants to know the power of the BB, talk to someone about that simple, out-of-the-way show.
Good times.
“Oh, we can walk through here?”
“Alright, let’s.”
I made myself eat Hershey chocolate before I left town. I felt like I had to.
And holy crap.
Any question where to come for the crem de la crem of Phish jams?
Miner’s a genius.
