Broomfield, CO public health alert: BLACK PLAGUE WARNING (unfortunately, this is for real)
As if you thought you’ve dealt with every kind of travel problem and adverse condition on Phish tour, according to their website here, the City and County of Broomfield, Colorado announced a warning of possible bubonic plague flea infested prairie dogs on a large tract of vacant land in Broomfield. On October 5th, the Public Health and Environment and Open Space and Trails Divisions of the City and County of Broomfield began investigating a private land and public open space prairie dog die off south and west of Uptown Avenue in Broomfield.

Based on observations made at the site, Public Health officials suspect plague infection as the cause of the die off and are proceeding with protective measures including informing the public, dusting rodent holes and blocking access to the area. A sample of fleas has been collected at this site and sent to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment Laboratory for further testing to confirm if plague is present.

The Public Health and Environment Division strongly advises residents, pet owners, area workers and visitors to avoid entering these vacant lands in the vicinity.

@kevin – didn’t show it right down the middle, but high and a little off the corner inside. I guess there’s not a lot of time to get out the way when it’s coming in that fast tho. But Utley hangs out there and doesn’t seem to give a damn for sure.

I’m not getting anything off Hoodstream. Oh, and as for the prairie dogs and the plague: I lived out there for 5 years, and I remember that coming up occasionally. They’re cute little animals, but I guess they have some medieval diseases.
