Ever the iconoclast, Mike Gordon has announced an out-of-the-ordinary mid-tour event coming up next Monday, October 18, in New York City. While Phish takes two days off between Charleston and Augusta, Mike will celebrate the release of his new album, Moss, with a participatory party in New York. Mike won’t be playing a usual show, but hosting a free event asking audience members to join him on stage jam for jam sessions with intruments to be provided. If you are driving from South Carolina to Maine, this might be the perfect pit stop, or if you’re in New York, head down to Bleeker Street and share this special night with Mike. You’re invited to “The Mossery,” a free-form musical event on the eve of the release of Mike Gordon’s new studio album, Moss. The event will take place at a fully transformed Kenny’s Castaway on Monday, October 18th in New York City. There’s no cost to get in and you can come, explore and leave as you please. Guests will have the chance to pick up Mike’s new album which hits stores on Tuesday.

Attendees will have the opportunity to play along, with Mike on bass. We supply the instruments and mikes and you show up. We can’t guarantee that everyone will get to (it’s first come, first served), but we’ll rotate as many willing participants through as possible, because a rolling stone gathers no moss.

The first half of the event will start at 7:30pm and continue through 9:00pm, at which point we’ll rotate out all folks, making room for the next flock of people. The second half of the event, with all new participants, will begin at 9:30pm and continue through 11:00pm.

Charleston blew chunks. I was soOo excited for the Ocedoc and Trey blew it. He fucked up songs all night. The worst is when he hits a high note and the place loses it. Nonsense. I don’t mean to be overly critical but I’m glad there is another night to come. Tonight was not good. Setlist paper might look ok but music was the choppiest mess thus far. My 0.02$
@miner you’re right. That sentence from last round of posts was completely nonsensical and illogical. My apologies. Was typing fast and missed words. All I was trying to say was I’ve been reading you for a long time now and generally love the same jams you were loving on any given night. And for the shows I can’t get to, you’re my one source of whether to download or not. I just thought you were using certain language to commend some of the broom jams that you normally reserve for some of the best jams I’ve heard from Phish as well. And I just didn’t agree that the broom tweezer or twist for example stacked up. Hence the comment sometimes I think you want them to play so well, that at times you convince yourself that they actually do.want no harm by it. Kind phan here just commenting. Love the music and so gawd damn grateful for it. Just thought the last night in Colorado didn’t live up to your words. Have a great tour everyone. And Miner, as always, thx for all you bring us. Echoing what Big Jig is saying, some of the stuff going on here is pure immature crap. Two of our most valued community members have gone MAI due to this drama, and to be honest, if it doesn’t stop, I’ll take the comments section right off this blog… Promise.
My .02… it would be a real shame to blow this place up because two people have a past history and can’t seem to stop antagonizing the other.
The personal shit should stop and if it doesn’t then maybe Miner should shut it down. The best part about this place is that it’s not PT.
