Wow… what a setlist! Can’t believe they played After Midnight — I figured that was one and done from Cypress. Makes quite a statement as an opener, and it looks like the rest of the show brought it as well.

Have Mercy was nice, i concede that. I guess i just haven’t dug the Mellow Moods of late. No big deal. Haven’t heard Night Nurse yet though, sounds like the name of a porno or something….

can these guys build the tension or what? maybe pet sounds…..

  4. punkmug Says:

@Mr. Palmer. Ha, No worries. Its mostly subjective and personal opinions when it comes to most things with the boys. In regard to Night Nurse, if you listen to the lyrics I believe the storyline is going the way of a porno.

Havnt heard the 2nd set yet, but this first was great.

You would think Access Me had complicated lyrics the way they routinely bothch them. But who really cares.

Cant wait to hear the ‘Light’. 2nd set looks like my kind oof set!

night nurse is extremely well done and true to the original. trey impressing big time with the vocals. greg isaacs was an incredible crooner. a voice of honey gold. classy.

I’m on the fence on Phish reggae

Makisupa they usually nail. The Bob covers are usually fun live but always pretty rough. I’m not the biggest Marley fan so I like the idea of them playing Night Nurse and Have Mercy. A nice Culture, Izzy Vibes, or Burning Spear cover would be nice.

Basically I’d love a little deeper cuts than just Marley and like them to tighten up that riddim a little bit.

Just as I say that about Light, it starts on Hoodstream right at the jam.

  9. kayatosh Says:

RT: then you’ll love night nurse. better than any mellow mood i’ve ever heard. (haven’t spun 10.26 yet)

Great post o the previous page jTran. You can tell the soul was touched last night.

    Great stuff.

I got all emotional just reading it. Plus I am an absolute sucker for Show of Life.

When they play it after a hot show it truly makes me reflect on all the goods that just went down!

Life is very good right now for us!

this makisupa sandwich — short and sweet. just perfect. makes one forget the 10/10 maki debacle.

good shows, but in my opinion a BIZARRE choice for the band’s next dvd box set.

we already have access to SBD quality audio for these shows, plus they happened months ago. do they realize how many people
-want to relive/never had the chance to see/dont have access to sbds/never have even heard-
a large number of prehiatus shows, of which shitty auds only circulate but circulate well due to performance?
anything from fall 97, or the late 90’s in general, PLEASE?!

  16. purplehumpbackwhale Says:

i shouldnt sound angry i mean they ARE putting out more dvd material but seriously? Alpine 2010?!

even if they were gonna do 2010… make it camden or utica or something. idk.

    bittersweet ranting
