Rivertrance has vegas on the mind.
Mornin’, BB.
True no spoilers run through last night starting…
Now.
An amazing, flowing, 2 set show chock full of highlights and rarities.
One comment: When they moved out of the very promising “Simple” Jam into “Makisupa” for a moment I was mildly disappointed. Then they start playing “Night Nurse” and it was ON again. The Ghost jam and the Weekapaug>Ghost/Night Nurse reprise>Can’t You Hear Me Knockin’>Weekapaug>Llama Reprise was just completely off the hook.
Forgot about Alumni – they really had that 1st set going right from the get go. Then the dive into reggae was perfect. It’s all about the flow.
wedge fan here, too.
NH takes nothing away from AC. two day layoff, table reset. 10.29 will be sweet. AC = pinnacle of a very high quality tour.
spun 10.15 highlights last night up to my problem right there (love that tune. sticks in your craw). dig the Stash and DWD>caspian>twist. jam in caspian is $$$.
can’t wait to get the kids to school and spin this bad boy.
yeah Palmer
I’m going the wrong way for these shows
used to traveling west
and no doubt wish it was Vegas but what can you do
One other comment: Light was in the original arrangement, without the vocal reprise. The jam got very very funky, and ended absolutely organically. Haven’t listened back yet, but I think this one might have edged out the Greek Light for best yet…
Looks sick truely sick
Really? After Midnight opener? Really?
And great rundown there Jtran! Thanks for sharing.
Spending the day home with this show, a little work, and lots of tea as i fight off the inevitable pre-show cold that has infiltrated the palmer household.
It’s like clockwork. Freaking 80 degrees here today, wtf. and raining. Lame.
@DukeOfLizards
Check out this Video from last nights opener! Insane!!

emergen C
and lots of sleep.
@Jtran. Thanks for the recap. I felt like I was actually at the show during parts of your recap. Thanks for sharing.
@Joechip. I hear you on that Light possibly being one of the top notch versions to this point. I still need to do some further investigating of it. But on first listen this morning it was absolutely blowing my mind it was so thick and gooey.
wow, setlist looks like a straight up middle finger to the weekend warrior. hope folks had a great time. never. miss. a. show.
ASIHTOS stings, yeah.
very excited to spin this one. nice they did a tribute to Issacs with ‘night nurse’. the boys are good like that. remeber ‘how high the moon’ les paul tribute? class acts
Kaya- been downing 1,000 mg of EmergenC a day. Stuff is great. The sleep thing i have zero control over. I think my wife is more excited about not having to deal with the kids for a night and being able to sleep in than the actual show on friday. Can’t wait to rage it with all ya’ll.
And props to how well Night Nurse came off. The vocals were sounding pretty good and the > out of Makisupa was spot on. Did anyone notice if Trey was using a lyric sheet while singing?
doing laundry this morning after the show and almost had a minor crisis. put shorts with ticket still in the pocket (and barcode) in the wash. got to dig it out about 5 minutes in with code still in tact.
sweet show. they are definitely firing on all cylanders right now. got up about 20-30 rows back dead center or so. I think someone needs to put out an instructional video or something for the kids so they can learn how to dance. It’s ok youngins. feel free to let it all hang out. No need to hold anything back. you can dance if you want to…
night nurse was pretty out of nowhere. it’s a staple of the local reggae show (Rockers on 88.9, WERS) and it gets stuck in my head from time to time. never really expected to hear it at a phish show.
have some thoughts on the “business” of phish and the sustainability of the scene, but it’s a discussion for another time. one thing I do know is that the music is at a very high level right now.
I think its a god idea to put Mellow Mood away for awhile and replace it with Waves…just saying. Makisupa should be the extent of the boys reggae repertoire.
Loling at Duke listening no spoilers right now.
He’s in for a ride.
I must be the anti-Mr. Palmer.
I love me some Have Mercy, Soul Shakedown Party, Mellow Mood …and now Night Nurse from the boys. Bring it on.
they use those Bob tunes perfectly though imo.
Bust out, or breather, or both.
Alumni rocked Camden’s version to shreds.
