The second of Summer ’97 brought six debuts after the tour opener featured seven new originals. These shows in Dublin started a long road of Summer ’97 that ended in Limestone, Maine at The Great Went. Over the course of months, Phish would transform a completely different band and a powerhouse of groove. This one goes out to Daniel via reader request.

  4. JeffieM Says:

I may be off base on this, but it’s always been my impression that the Vietnam War protest was mostly a result of the Draft… people were more engaged in the debate because they didn’t want to go to war than because their country didn’t want to war. I know that is not the case across the board. I just feel like it is unfair to say that we are that much more disengaged today than people were back in the day.

I have been on a massive Reba kick lately (ignited by the Augusta version). There were many older Rebas that I hadn’t heard. After doing an exhaustive search, DL session, and listening session I now have my top 5 (in order):

    1. 7/6/94
    2. 5/16/95
    3. 12/31/95
    4. 10/31/94
    5. 8/17/96

    Thank you and goodnight

“Although it doesn’t say whether we are killing that many civilians or if the terrorists are killing their own people and that adds onto the total percentage of deaths”BK

Important thing to keep in mind is that iraqi on iraqi violence is still US related since we caused the chaotic situation which has allowed all of this violence occur. So in a sense the blood i still on our hands.

yes greenwald has been righting a lot about the media coverage. Can’t wait for him to finish his new book, should be a good one.

I’m out folks, till tomorrow, peace.

you are right on target. I believe this is the reason we are relying so heavily on private contractors, this way we can avoid pissing off people. The draft brought the war home for many people.

I will give our generation this, there was a protest movement before the first bomb even dropped. That never would have happened fifty years ago.

  9. Lycanthropist Says:

    the Worcester Jim really?

guess another hour of my life to be wasted… at least this time in SBD quality.

  10. BrandonKayda Says:

Yeah Lycan I did the same thing – typed 10/31 instead of 10/30 (I knew it was 10/30, just a typo). Then I, for some reason, took out the 12/5/09 date on Light (even though it wouldn’t have made any point difference if I got the date wrong/left it out completely).

I’ll have to do better next time 😀

  11. willowed Says:

What the hell is goin on. Who are all of you people and what have you done with your avatars?

  12. lastwaltzer Says:

skip on the runaway jimpohny and go with the 95 lakewood, shit is hot.

    I’m really out now. 😉

  13. Lycanthropist Says:

thats weird that we made the same mistake BK

Not enough to give me the win

And I knew that #1 was Light but I couldn’t find it for the life of me!
    I guess its cause I don’t have a copy of 12-5

  14. BrandonKayda Says:

Yeah. I looked at what I sent after I saw the results and I was just like “wow…stupid mistakes” lol

  15. garretc Says:

Wow, I didn’t realize the U.S. was the root of Shiite-Sunni conflict in Iraq… Did we go back in time and create that divisive rift in Islam?

We fucked up a bunch of stuff in the Middle East, but not ALL of it is our fault…

  16. phoammhead Says:

    nice input Dave

  17. willowed Says:

any time I think of The Ball Dave…I smile.

    Love that Ball Reba!

  18. Chuck D Says:

    the HOFF!

    bet he swe…. laterz~

  19. JeffieM Says:

I think the point is that there would not be an open civil war if we had left Saddam in power. Not that that is a good situation, but it is at least a stable situation without people dying.

An alternative would be to not do the war on the cheap and have a plan to stabilize the population, but that is a discussion for 7 years ago.

  20. JeffieM Says:

alright, I’m out to. Have a good one guys.

  21. phoammhead Says:

60 min jim goes type ii at 7 min

  22. BrandonKayda Says:

and it goes type zzzzzzzzzzzzz at 20mins

  23. garretc Says:

Yeah, I wouldn’t argue with that, but it seems misplaced to say the U.S. is THE cause of Iraqi civil conflict…

  24. garretc Says:

Ohhh, BK dropping the hammer on the Jymphony!

I guess you’re pissed he ran away with your car for 60 whole minutes…

  25. Lycanthropist Says:
