Phish Power (Pollock)

The second of Summer ’97 brought six debuts after the tour opener featured seven new originals. These shows in Dublin started a long road of Summer ’97 that ended in Limestone, Maine at The Great Went. Over the course of months, Phish would transform a completely different band and a powerhouse of groove. This one goes out to Daniel via reader request.

  11. gavinsdad Says:

from the zzyzx perspective, i really dig the prince valiant and rec specs era phishman. when they did sunfest in west palm beach FL in 1994 i remember just kinda walking around the back of the event before going in and seeing phishman just standing there with his rec specs on looking like such a little troll. i’ve always been tickled by his goofy nature. now he’s like an old potato drum basher.

  12. BrandonKayda Says:

What is up with the avatar change today? Not used to this lol

@emperor: since i don’t really know who you are i’ll just say that i was at that 12/28/94 show too and i had a blast. do you happen to remember trey or one of the other band members actually running around the entire stage, like behind the backline, with or without a megaphone (even tho fee wasn’t played…i was sober at this show btw)?

I’ll second Dave on the 7.6.94 as top Reba (for me anyway). Just love the little familiar groove it gets to. Gonna have to check a few of those others mentioned I haven’t heard.

  19. gavinsdad Says:

ps…always like getting the W. Coast perspective from Voopa. cheers man. we don’t have alot of people who saw West Coast shows consistently early on commenting here so it’s good to get some insight.
