The second of Summer ’97 brought six debuts after the tour opener featured seven new originals. These shows in Dublin started a long road of Summer ’97 that ended in Limestone, Maine at The Great Went. Over the course of months, Phish would transform a completely different band and a powerhouse of groove. This one goes out to Daniel via reader request.

    just popping in but………

“U.S. was the root of Shiite-Sunni conflict in Iraq… Did we go back in time and create that divisive rift in Islam?”garrett

Never said we were the root, obviously this goes back longer then the existence of our country but as jeffiem pointed out we created the power vacuum, which in turn has led to the civil war.

What I said was “important thing to keep in mind is that iraqi on iraqi violence is still US related since we caused the chaotic situation which has allowed all of this violence occur. So in a sense the blood i still on our hands.”

nothing was said about the root, just said that its related to the fact they we destroyed their infrastructure and took away their rule of law (not saying their rule of law wasn’t twisted, I just don’t think it was our job to fix it).

  13. lumpyhead Says:

ha. i’m old fashioned that way when it comes to avatars i guess.

    good lycan.

to start the month of nov i learned my grandmother was filled with cancer. brain, lung, kidney, bladder, and ovary! it’s been as trying a time as i’ve had to endure as she was basically my mother in many respects. so me and the slf have been driving up to indiana every weekend taking care of her and my Gpa to give my Aunt a break. In addition to that, my job got SUPER busy.

but, to counter this horrific tragedy, my company offered me my dream job of working in the field. they asked if it would be a problem if i relocated to the Boulder, CO area??!!! You know, work out of your own home, get a company car, expenses paid, and i would have to work with partners in places like Boulder, Denver, Glenwood Springs, and even Jackson Hole, WY!! Yeah, that would be a problem. It’s a major career jump for me, so me ant slf are really excited. So, I took that job and move to that area in Feb/March.

Life has put me in the ol’ spin cycle. sadly, it’s kept me from the good people of the Blackboard. but once i get through the inevitable passing of my Gma, and move on to CO, I feel some great things are in the making.

i can assure everybody here, next show at Red Rocks, cookout at my house. I’ll fly out Leo to cook up wings. Have a problem with that Leo?

  17. lumpyhead Says:

I know not everyone did it. And I requested that admiral ackbar changes back.

But still, I read the original “change avatar” post this morning and had no idea so many people would do it.

  18. EL Duderino Says:

    Sounds terrific Tela’s

    Congratulations friend!

  19. Leo Weaver Says:

    Not. A. Problem. At. All.

    I. Guarantee. You.

Big congrats and condolences. My GM passed in June…just wrote a letter to my grandfather about some of it. Let us know if you guys need anything. Sometimes the ol’ spin cycle of life is a good thing, ya know…just gotta figure out where the oh-shit handles are so you can hold on.
