Miner’s Picks – Fall 2010
I have finally listened to Fall Tour enough to be able to drop “Miner’s Picks: Fall 2010.” But there were far too many highlights, that’s my problem right there. So instead of limiting myself to one version per song on a tour that featured a fairly tight rotation, I decided to split the run into three chronological chunks and form three mini-sets of fall jams. Obviously, I could have chosen multiple versions of almost all songs, but unless their was a dire need to double up, as in the case of a song combinations (“Pipers”) or two versions I couldn’t choose between (“Ghost”), I did my best to single out my favorite versions without repeating songs. Without further ado, here are my picks. (Torrent link is at the top of the list, direct download links are at the bottom.)

You guys could be called:
The BBand
or
The Blackboard Convention
😉
Ha I like The Blackboard Convention
I see the Amherst Bowie clearly as No. 2 after AC.
^ while I wouldn’t necc. agree with this placement, this Bowie was solid. It was just so lost on me after such a mellow, boring, crap set…throwing a Bowie on the end was almost like, “Really?! Now you’re gonna jam?!” As a listen back, I agree on its quality, but damn that show was miserable…wonder what made them decide “Hey, let’s go out and not rage tonight?” Happy sundays folks:
12.5 : JotD’s: Bathtub Umass 95 / Stash Cleveland ’97…listen..enjoy the anniversaries.
so many good bowies this tour..
I feel like that Brim Bowie edges out Amherst
Second the Blackboard Convention
the ultimate pipe-dream for 2011 but one that’s fun to think about nonetheless. Phish turns back the clock even more and barnstorms the country doing 100 or so shows in small’sh arenas and large’sh theaters and culminates the 3.0 era in pure heat.
I’ll still take a handful of summer and fall shows in the northeast 🙂 just was daydreaming for those who’ve felt leftout.
I’ll give an oldie but goodie to the Blackboard Convention. “Bitch Stole My Reefer”. feel free to put in on w a x.
random NFL note. I love seeing the bengals struggling. Sportsenfreude at it’s finest. (my made up word of the day. a snigglet for you old bastards)
Trey’s Vermont homestead that has the famous barn on the property is for sale. Pretty reasonably priced for 25 acres and a slice of history.

that’s awesome Jdub. should we start a collection going for the new BB retreat? underrated 4 seasons in Vermont.
how have i not heard of bert jansch before 2 days ago?
I was thinking a bunch of BBers could go in and do a time share sort of thing. Trade off vacation weeks.
why no tweezer 10/23?
hooly shit! was it kwl who told everyone to listen to the 2.17.97 carini? whoever it was, thanks a million… cool shit
speaking of Blackboard Convention…. will there be enough bbers in town for the msg run to pull of a jam session during the day one day? i think itd be cool… we could rent studio space which comes with a drumset and keys and amps. all the non musical BBers could come and watch if they wanted.
would really love to pull this off.
Bowies

*ting*
what is happening with this carini?!
Damn that 25 acres is a sick, sick buy
@purple
I’d be down for BB jamming! That’d be pretty dope… Wouldn’t be able to bring my own guitar though…
Also, it sounds like I’ll need to listen to 2/17/97 Carini soon…
i’m in for $20 on the timeshare
dont stop with just the carini, give the whole set II a spin
KP did a remaster of it here
