    @robear
might want to add another asterisk for the Makisuper warning of the impending bass bomb onslaught coming to the listener.

  2. Dr. Pronoia Says:

Wow Pham, respect and love your way.

Sounds like you’re doing the hard, necessary work, and leaning on all the right supports to do it. We’re all here for you too

If there’s any way I could be helpful from afar, let me know

  3. Mr. Completely Says:

@sumo, for rock stars, it seems like the guys in the band have kind of been through a lot really

I’m really happy for them, as people, and it’s even better to see that they realize how lucky they are and are soaking it in, not taking it for granted

that’s how you win at life I think

get that second chance and make the fuckin’ most of it, and drink it in when it happens…

  4. joe Says:

I noticed that at Manchester for sure sumo. extra long bow on stage after set I. and, although I do dig the ww shirt (as do sweedish girls apparently), I was reffering to the actual night of when they were being wisked through the hallway by security and the look of joy combined with anticipation of more joy. really great to see as a fan. maybe we put too much stock into it, but it really seems like a great phase of their careers from an appreciation standpoint right now. (having said that…more sets like 12/31 II and 1/1 II will keep us happy too)

I love when NPR in Boston uses phish tunes under their bumps. Tonight we got a little snippet of talk

    ‘makisuper**’

  7. ChefBradford Says:

    PhamilyB, good luck man

  8. Matso Says:

    @ Pham –
Wishing you loads of support from afar. It takes a huge amount of courage to get to where you are now. I can only imagine how difficult it must be to live with that kind of pain and regret. Here’s hoping the support and kindness of some “strangers” (the BB) helps keep you strong on this path.

  9. willowed Says:

Anyone else think the band has started taking a little more pronounced bow at some of the shows this year?
    @ Sumo

    Absolutely

  10. Robear Says:

    nOOb alert:

how do i take this 24bit AIFF/WAV file and make it something to burn to CD?

  11. Matso Says:

    Re: pronounced bow –

Yes, noticed that this summer actually. Reminds me a bit of how Keith Jarrett, Gary Peacock and Jack DeJohnette bow at the end of their gigs – it’s like they centre themselves, become mindful of the present moment, and then take a bow. Jarrett and co. also give this little prayer sign to the audience.

  12. willowed Says:

    Makisuper damaged my inerds

The impending bomb fucked up my vas deferens (sp?) and one kidney.

I kid, but something ain’t tright.

What is a vas derferns anyway? I think it may have something to do with a penis. I’m not a doctor.

That bass did feel like a kick in the balls……in a good way

  13. willowed Says:

I heard Howard Stern is using a Bose Speaker Sytsem and the MSG Maisuper rather than the Cybian moving forward.

    OK, I am out.

I offer no value to any conversation on this board. Willowed hangs head and walks away feeling shame.

  14. Robear Says:

don’t go wllowed. lol’n over here at your posts and I don’t even know why.

  15. butter Says:

    ‘makisuper**’

^takes the Robear challenge while the fam is out and about

  16. Chuck SWE Says:

i’m wishing i hadn’t googled “vas deferens” at work… and your spelling was dead on btw~

  17. willowed Says:

I’m just one of those guys Robear that’s not really an intelectual..you know.
So I crack funny jokes and try to make people feel good.

I have learned to deal with it. That’s one thing I’m clear on in this crazy mixed up crazy world, I know who I am and it’s all good.

    You guys are great.

and yes, I had a drink after work. can you tell?

ps. MSG Walk Away is the Bees Knees (never understood why knees has a K in it. Doesn’t make sense to me)

  18. Mr. Completely Says:

vas deferens is involved when you bust a nut, so yeah I could see that being involved in the Makisupa experience ’cause that bass tone could getcha pretty riled

  19. butter Says:

Miner your right about Spanish Moon – could absolutely blow up

and ya had to be the first kid to not like Crosseyed 😉

this maki bass experiment is dope

  20. Mr. Completely Says:

    FWIW Willowed

I have known a lot of really smart people

and I have known a lot of really good people

and the overlap between the two is not as high as you might think

one thing I learned with age is to value the quality of a person’s spirit above everything else

and you have a great spirit, that’s obvious

plus there’s a lot of value in knowing who you actually are

  21. butter Says:

    good stuff willowed

  22. Mr. Completely Says:

after Mike drops all those crazy filter bombs, isn’t it Trey that pushes the Maki into full abstraction? He just plays some super weird thing and keeps playing it until the groove dissolves into mush….

    I think it was him

  23. butterflyeffect Says:

    EQ>IQ

  24. butter Says:

yea, and the maki>bowie is unbelievable

  25. joe Says:

wish you could make your avatar the chicken dance in mpeg format. although, the pat patriot is pretty kickass if you ask me.
