wouldn’t burning to CD just compress those files?

  2. Gavinsdad Says:

    Good people here.

Pham – I’m pages too late but thinking of you. Babysteps. Everyone wants to clean up the wreckage and make big strides. Let time take time. Soak it in.

@Joe – you too bro. We’ve talked and you know I have a unique perspective. Card carrying recovery guy for years…now decadent at shows…and trying to be me. Feel free to catch me any time to chat but per Neems post…to boil it down a little further…just be cautious about enabling. There is love, and then there is enabling. Enabling is a slippery slope.

Again…good people on here. Refreshing to see.

well @type III – by the way it’s generally used, secular humanism generally implies a reductionist or materialist position on matters of the spirit, which I flatly reject as contrary to my experience

that may not be the technical definition but that’s the way folks seem to use the term

when I say spirit emerges from our collective union I do not mean it as a metaphor or allegory

I mean it as a physical fact

(obviously one that is outside the reach of experimental proof or refutation for the forseeable future)

I think the emergence of spirit from human beings is literally real

but I reject all notions of a previously existing deity of any kind

so I have no idea what to call that really

  4. Mr. Completely Says:

I have no functional knowledge about using 24 bit files. just for the record.

  5. Mr. Completely Says:

@tzaras – “@MrC, what no love for the Seahawks? Can’t you see it’s a trap game? And the Saints walked right into it. A WW T-shirt at the next west coast show on it?”

Now that the Saints have no running game I’m not sure how I feel about that 10 point line….

  6. Mr. Completely Says:

but, I mean, the Seahawks are really, really terrible

  7. Gavinsdad Says:

“Spirit emerges from our collective union”

Caught a whiff of this up at MSG. It’s real.

  8. Mr. Completely Says:

and the idea of a Sean Payton/Drew Brees team being vulnerable to a ‘trap game’ dynamic in the playoffs is not very convincing

  9. Mr. Completely Says:

    ‘course it is @gdad

  10. neemor Says:

Trying to get my ex to forget the past, forget the arguing, forget the horrible breakup and come sleep over.
    Wish me luck.
    🙂

“Caught a whiff of this up at MSG. It’s real.”
    Indeed.
    Reba.

  12. Mr. Completely Says:

just remind her of how well you do that one thing you do that she likes.

    you know the one.

Advisor is bringing the hammer down, funding situation for next year looking a little dicey

Wish me luck maneuvering through this one BB

  14. Mr.Palmer Says:

The 1/1 Reba jam is very nice. After many spins i think its safe to say that 1/1 is the best show of the 20 or so i’ve seen in 3.0

  15. butterflyeffect Says:

    good luck neems

  16. Gavinsdad Says:

How’d that new hat treat u Neems?

  17. Robear Says:

not sure @ dF, mehbe so.

i converted the files from .AIFF to .WAV, which brought the bit rate from 2304 kbps to 1536 and the playlist size from 2.77 gb to 1.85 gb respectively.

but what your saying is i can burn from either file type and it would compress to the same amt. of CD’s?

btw, the 1/1/11 show smokes top to bottom side to side

  18. Gavinsdad Says:

I’d look down at Trey and the band and just see a band locked in. Couldnt fuck with them if you tried. Sometimes it’s best to just get the f outta their way. This happened alot on 1/1.

In other news, a spicier, brighter and tougher lead tone for Triz on many of these tunes this run. Edgy in places. His phrasing was clipped too, owing to that overall staccato/plucky clockwork thing we’ve been talking about (that isn’t new…I remember).

  19. Gavinsdad Says:

Nice stair dancin with you and your Ro.

  20. joe Says:

12/31/10 set II on gone phishin on sirius right now. first time I’ve listened to it in crystal clear goodness. cool crowd reactions during the staccato sand section right now.

and, thanks for the words gdad. It’s a fine line and I’m not sure which side of it I’m on right now. Just trying to help us both get through to the other side. maybe trying to help too much, but I can’t really sit back and watch either. oh well. not really the right time or place for this discussion. sorry all. but I do appreciate the kindness exhibited here by all.

  21. Gavinsdad Says:

    ^you and yours

  22. Mr.Palmer Says:

Robear- must have been nice to finally exorcise that Amherst 2 show, huh? Went out in grand fashion this time around.

I like Walls. Always have. This version rips.

  23. DaNcInG fOoL Says:

@robear, i think CDs can only have mp3s on them, so it would compress them to mp3 quality, or something. i don’t really know for sure

  24. Mr.Palmer Says:

Back to Can, Tago Mago. so far i dig it.

  25. Gavinsdad Says:

    Right on Joe.

Looks like Waves is reserved for outdoor West Coast goodness. Please make it so and please dont let me have another family wedding when it happens.
