    ^ loosely translated – “first”

    ZAP! (second)

BONG! (loosely translated to ‘happy weekend’)

Had an intense week at work prepping for a big time meeting Monday. Was bumping ’10 highlights all week to pull through. There is so much slick shit to choose from now. Feel like the boys are really starting to get back into polished form

Prov R&R > Carini just gets better and better after each listen. My kind of murky underbelly jamming right therrr.

“Do you know what a Twerp is? When I was in high school in Indianapolis 65 years ago, a Twerp was a guy who stuck a set of false teeth up his rear end and bit the buttons off the back seats of taxicabs. (And a Snarf was a guy who sniffed the seats of girls’ bicycles.)”

    – Kurt Vonnegut

Is there any better Saturday morning Phish than Cypress After Midnight Reprise? I say no. So much space up in that groove. Sounds a lot like what they are trying to do in jams like MSG Twist and Sally

  6. willowed Says:

I played that almost every morning for two straight months this summer jdub.

I started my day with Outta Space by Billy Preston. Mmmm, so very, very, very funky.

  8. guitarpicker420! Says:

I was going to go the gym this morning, but in my drunken stupor last night I failed to put the gym clothes in the dryer. So….bloody marys and College Game Day at Purdue!!! it is.

  9. butterflyeffect Says:

    haha gp420 ftw

  10. nonoyolker Says:

    Outta Space is solid funk

Aaron Rogers, serious douchebag move: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i1bWg6Iaa9A&feature=player_embedded#at=15

  11. mitch Says:

gp420, that only seems like the most logical and reasonable solution to your dilemma.

  12. guitarpicker420! Says:

And I put some moonshine in my coffee. Figured I’d just go all out. Especially since I’m going to miss the game tonight in order to take my slf to the symphony. I’m going to have to wear a freaking tie!

  13. mitch Says:

    Wearing a tie? Sheeeit.

Easy on that moonshine or they won’t let you in the symphony. It’s not a Phish show ya know. You going downtown to the circle?

  14. guitarpicker420! Says:

Yeah, dinner at Barcelona Tapas and then Symphony Fantastique I think its called, plus Beethoven’s 5th piano concerto, and the Overture to Marriage of Figaro. It will be fun, definitely an adult night out on the town.

  15. guitarpicker420! Says:

And I water the moonshine down to about 80 proof. 160 proof liquor is just not very drinkable. However, at 80, I can mix it or drink it straight up just like I would vodka. Thus making it very affordable. I can end up with the equivalent of 4.5 5ths of quality vodka for about $12.

Just reminiscing about this summer. I have Set 2 JB 1 on right now.

That was a great 2 days of music shared with some great people!

Makes me smile just thinking about it. This place is really special, the fun that we sgared over the past few years has been the best!

  17. phoammhead Says:

i listened to the msg crosseyed yesterday and find it nasty and crunchy in a good way and comes off as a unique jam

the north chucktown crosseyed is cleaner, more precise and has that extra extended ending section

    both versions are smokin’ hot!

    anybody else done a comparison?

willowed – me you and neems blew that place up.

I am listening to the Walnut Creek 98 Ghost right now for the first time, very nice. Some cool Trey business, feels like we are going to step into the freezer.

  21. angryjoggerz Says:

Pretty intense first music of the day.

  22. kenny powers Says:

@ aj – did you get a chance to listen to the Boise 6/7/95 Theme from that compilations? Truly one of the darkest, most intense versions of what is otherwise an uplifting jam. Leave it to summer ’95…

  23. willowed Says:

    Yes…yes we did KP

The last row is the best row!

  24. poop goblin Says:

agreed on that 7 below Miner

something about that jam is just so slick and patient and it never stumbles. just flows start to finish.

love how Trey starts it with some nice wah pedal infused comping as the band picks up the groove

great patient conversation. from the first spin that shit had me floored.

    more of that please!

  25. angryjoggerz Says:

not yet, KP, but now I know where to go next, thanks! This comp has been on constant rotation all week. Really good, thanks.
