  1. (looks too much like)Dave Says:

PNC Bank/Garden State Arts Center looks like a pretty neat place, wonder why they don’t play there more often.

  2. butter Says:

good call on the Disease > Free

    the disease sounded awesome there

  3. Foul_Domain Says:

    Turd!

Morning BB. I hope Miner comes back strong from his hiatus.

  4. phoammhead Says:

    ^oh no, it’s started again . . . another day of shIT! 😉

. . . don’t you think there is some meaning behind DWD>Free . . . MrMiner is saying free yourselves from being down with disease – elevate – seriously!

    8)

  5. gavinsdad Says:

didn’t make the 92 or 94 PNCs (i grew up an hour north in NJ so it was the Garden State Arts Center to me) but got the 99 and 00s. killer venue, couldn’t complain. saw all the TAB shows played there as well.

will check this 94 show after i’m done with all of KPs Sbds!

  6. mitch Says:

    A.C. is arts center.

I was like “why did miner put garden state Atlantic city?”

    It’s early.

That DOTD has some heavy hitters. 94 must have been fun.

  7. lastwaltzer Says:

Yo sumo you around? I got an opera question, probably won’t be around much today but if you pop in and see this mind shooting me an email: m a t t m c 1 9 8 6 @ yahoo.com

if anyone has sumo’s email and wants to send it along, by all means.

  8. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

    mornin’ all

thanks for the dotd, miner. that was a fun show. gotta love one when tweez and reprise both show up in the first set. not to mention the big mike’s sandwich and maze in the second. looking forward to spinning this one today.

as for the “news” and other stuff of late, perhaps we all just need a few slaps in the face to help us all snap out of it.

  9. MisterChristian Says:

To add to yesterdays topic, I”m REALLY sick of the Great Woods lawn, I just feel removed from the concert back there. The Hartford Meadows is fairly close and has a much better lawn set up. I might actually consider missing a GW show if I can’t score pavillion.

    nah..

  10. plord Says:

Morning BB. Trying to fly out of JFK before the storm, wish me luck.

Life this past week is definitely in the “Strange things afoot at the Circle K” category. Sadly, no spiritual advice from a time traveling George Carlin seems to be coming.

  11. plord Says:

So who got in on the Europe ’72 box? After the comically inept website failure, I did manage to snag a copy, but I wasn’t smart enough to think through the personalization. I mean, the obvious call there is to paste it with a quote from the banter/shenanigans from the tour or the annals of Hypnocracy.

“On the sea of Hypnocracy, the shore is just another wave” – St. Dilbert

…would probably have been my choice. Oh well. I wonder if the set still includes the “Mediterranean Beach Jam”?

  12. nonoyolker Says:

Morning all. Another storm heading Bean-ward. Every time Boston public is off, my office closes. Best. Winter. Ever.

@ MC – agreed on Greatwoods lawn, but its the home venue, so i’ll always go. They got greedy and put in uncovered seats – weak scheme. The lawn used to be sweet back in the day. Last show i saw with the old set up was TAB in ’01, and I think that I remember them having a sand pit area in the lawn (??). I was fairly spun that tour, but that stood out. Anyone k’angfirm?

  13. bhizzle Says:

    Rift as an encore?!?!?!?!

Re: Europe 72: “After the comically inept website failure, I did manage to snag a copy” – huh? someone is floating a copy around for d/l?

Also, love the Bill & Ted references

  14. jdub Says:

@Nono, my last show at the old Great Woods setup was that ’01 TAB show as well. And yes, it was a beach. I recall hearing a rumor that they took out the grass due to fans throwing chunks of it during lollapalooza or something like that.

The back lawn there sucks indeed. Chilling on the lawn pre show for The Dead the sprinkler system went off, some unsuspecting people got nailed. Quite funny though.

  15. JerZ Says:

PNC lawn is one of the best for dancin- a little steep but huge, and completely flat on the top with deer creek like concrete dance areas down low by side of pavilion. Glad to see it called Garden State AC- screw corporate sponsorship

  16. jdub Says:

I will say the walkway between the covered seats and uncovered seats at Great Woods is one of the best outdoor dancing spots. Not much congestion since the only people using it have tickets for the uncovered seats. Great sound and sightlines as well.

  17. nonoyolker Says:

@ JDub – yup, that walkway is $$$. Seen a lot of shows from that area

  18. willowed Says:

    Kangfirmed nono

There used to be sand at those shores in the Greatwoods

    Ahoy Mate

  19. willowed Says:

IThe uncovered seats good little seats.
Sound is great, views are great.

and yes, the space between the lawn chairs and the pavs is an absolute throwdown. When I’m all spun I love walking from one side to the other just bobbing and weaving. It’s a fun time! I always seem to meet friends on that strip. Hugs everywhere!

I love everything about greatwoods (less the secrity in the lot)

  20. BTB Says:

Miner posted something on FB about PH co-headlining with DMB this summer???

Is anyone in a position to confirm or dis-confirm this suspicion?

  21. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

    @btb
check out yesterday’s thread. people were talking like the world is about to end.

basically, dmb announced they will in fact play four separate “festival” dates this summer and there’s a rumor those would be co-headliner dealies with the phish, what with the shared management and all. at this point all we have is speculation and specious rumor. full story at eleven.

  22. mitch Says:

    Willowed said “the space between”

I cannot wait for dmb/PHiSH tour

  23. nonoyolker Says:

@ Word Willowed. Only thing that sucks for GWs is parking. Took me 2 hrs to leave the lot after Radiohead. MASSIVE clusterfuck. Miss the sand though. Being barefoot and spun there was alllllright…

@ BTB – I have a buddy (presumably) pretty in the know and dude said it was a prank, but I have been breaking shop windows and looting till my hands hurt in case the news is real

  24. BTB Says:

    Miss a day…miss a lot

Hey, guys. Oh, Big Gulps, huh? All right… Well, see you later!

  25. willowed Says:

    Oh nooooooo
You’re so right Mitch….this is starting to infect my brain!
