The city looks like a snow globe out my subway window. I’m gonna miss having an above ground train in the morn. No more BB commute.

  2. willowed Says:

    Parking blows. Single file exit.
That’s why I always pop something in my mouth mid set 2. This guarantees I will be spun in the lot for a good 2-3 hours (or more) after show. I don’t jump in the car till way after show ends.

I thought I’d try again since it seems like there weren’t many people online last night.

i was reading one of the forums over at yesterday and some people were discussing how all of these phish people are freaking out about dmb and phish (hopefully!) sharing the stage this summer.

do you guys know if this is true??
I love dmb and people tell me I should check out phish too, so that would be about perfect for me.

also, why would you be upset if this happens? it would be such a huge party and would bring together so many like-minded people to hear a lot of great music. I think it would be the bomb.

  4. Tzara's Ghost Says:

@plord, I picked up a copy for my brother and me. Glad I stayed on it through all the madness. Sold out 7000 in less than four days.

Still haven’t confirmed order, trying to think of a personalization.

@brb, nnnoooooo! 10-15 pages on the subject yesterday. Don’t rile ’em again.

  5. Tzara's Ghost Says:

    Brb=btb. iPhone’s fault. It’s early.

  6. jdub Says:

Everyones worried Phish will catch some kind of sellout virus by playing the same stage as dmb. It’s more likely dmb would be inspired by Phish than the other way around. When Phish played ACL did they become some shoe gazing minimalists? No. They proceded to play their hottest tour yet.

It would be a shit show for sure, one that I would avoid like the plague. But the end of Phish as we know it? Not likely. I just hope Capshaw doesn’t get any crazy ideas like putting dmb at Watkins Glen. Do it in the midwest somewhere on a Tuesday night.

top of the mornin’ all. won’t be around much the next three days. subbing down river.

give thanks, hug your loved one, and have a good one!

definitely don’t expect to get anywhere quickly post show at great woods. we usually wait out the rush for the exit inside, chilling fora bit before heading back to the cars. then we crack a beer, light the fires and wait it out some more.

still, not the worst parking situation I’ve ever been a part of. for the nd/air force football game in c springs in like 2001 or 2002, they had the cadets (are they called cadets? whatever. I’m sticking with it) do the parking before the game. worked great, everyone got into the lots fine. after the game, the cadets were off duty and they had closed off a couple of roads so there was only one way out of the lot. four and a half hours later, we got to the highway. we were not spun. it took for fucking ever.

  10. Robear Says:

@ Trippin’Bill, we’re like spoiled kids that don’t want to share our favorite play toys.

or like the little lepruchans that found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, and don’t want to share the loot with the common folk!

T3- Figured you would like this- So guess who is gracing downtown South Bend with his presence tonight? Snoop Dog. Guess who has tickets? this guy

    “Bad Moments in Phishtory”

interesting read -not a negative article. Someone spent a lot of time compiling all these moments

  13. BTB Says:

Was that a real post or Greenboard Shennanigans?

My apologies on the topic…I didn’t get a chance to check the BB yesterday.

  14. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

nice, littering. that should be a fun one. is he playing morris civic? if so, that’s pretty hilarious.

  15. sumodie Says:

@lw: an opera question for me, ha! that’s a good one. But I’ll pass it along to G. Email (almost) sent.

“PNC Bank/Garden State Arts Center looks like a pretty neat place, wonder why they don’t play there more often.”

i heard they were banned after the 2000 shows because the management was not into all the drugs in the scene.

    @ jdub

funny story – my first big concert ever was Screaming Trees/Soul Asylum/Spin Doctors in the summer of ’93 at Great Woods. During Soul Asylum, all these dudes started tearing up the sod lawn into these 3-5 foot (or so) chunks and throwing them all over, wearing them as robes, etc. The next time I was there, all the sod was gone and it was replaced with sand. I wonder if that was the genesis of the beach lawn.

I too was at that TAB ’01 show. Cold as fuck and rainy June show.

  17. Mr. Palmer Says:

Trippingbilly( great name btw) and the rest of you cats had me cracking up last night. Funny stuff. Wife was wondering why I kept cracking up during the SOTU address. We have some funny peeps here.

  18. TrippingBilly Says:

    thank you, Robear.
is it really that you don’t want more fans at shows or that you don’t like the music of dmb? I don’t know much of anything about phish but it sure seems like the music is similar from what I’ve heard.

  19. kenny powers Says:

that ““Bad Moments in Phishtory” was taken from The Phish Companion.

  20. Robear Says:

TB, I actually like new fans. Being selfish, I prefer more of a clean slate coming in, less of a ‘Crash into me’ type influence. We’ll work together as a scene to break you kids in slowly.

    A couple rules:

If the person looks like they belong in a special home and not a concert, the tickets are probably fake.

You’re more likely to get food poisoning than dosed from lot food.

    Travel in pairs.

Kick down before you get down.

    Don’t talk during the music.

  21. Litteringandd Says:

t3- he playing a club downtown that has had numerous names since it opened. It is currently called Club Fever and was formerly Heartland

  22. BTB Says:

Oh, I get it. BB shenanigans. Excellent

  23. kenny powers Says:

the $40 express/VIP/whatever parking it totally worth it if you can split it a few ways. You don’t exactly fly out if you leave around the same time as the masses, but it’s a helluva lot quicker than the main lots.

  24. kenny powers Says:

    at GW i meant

  25. TrippingBilly Says:

thanks for the tips. what do you mean by “kick down before you get down”? is that some kind of drug reference? sorry, I really want to learn more about your scene. I thought it was really similar to dmb, but the more I read the more that seems to be false. somebody on here last night sent me to some weird christian site to learn about phish, but that seemed to be fake.
