i love the ’95 dvds too. started watching all the dvds frankies been mailing me since 09. ran across the dec 95 shows. trey is straight fat. he looks like a fucking gopher bobbing his head looking at the rafters. post shows we would get back all spun and i’d ask:

me: “veneta or fat ray?” (dead veneta 72 or fat trey)
buddy: “um, lets start with veneta dark star and then go fat ray”

we call 95 trey “fat ray” or famous fat ray’s pizza

  2. mitch Says:

maybe you had to be there tho as ymmv

  3. mitch Says:

i cannot watch dec 95 trey and not crack up laughing. its like weed smoking trey vs H trey.

  4. willowed Says:

You may have checked it already but you should check out Set 2 of the TAB show from Oakdale, CT. last year.
I feel the hottest show oif the TAB tour last year (biased though)

Love is Freedom>Simple Twist up Dave is a freakin’ scorcher

The interplay between keybaordist and trza is dynamic.

I wish I had a link I would toss it to you.

i’d put my yellow fever against AW’s in a cage match

This was really a beautiful Free led by Trey.
    Good stuff.

    ^ this

  8. SillyWilly Says:

chubby trey is the best trey.

  9. sumodie Says:

@neemor: the yuck was for the mp3s….I find it offensive that Amazon (iTunes too?) sells mp3s of the remasters (or any album) for $11, since an mp3 is a degraded version of the show

Apple, supposedly the hip forward thinking corporation, seems completely outdated in this regard too (or do they sell lossless music?)

  10. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

awww yeah, looks like TAB HOB is growing to be a nice little meet up. closest thing I’ll get to a birthday show these days too. come one, come all. we gonna throw down. hard.

  11. neemsbane. Says:

250 songs per gigabyte according to the side of an ipod box

10 songs per gigabyte for phish lossless

    you do the math.

  12. Selector J Says:

No kidding, SW. Trane’s Africa/Brass and Ballads are also available in 24/96 for $18.

Just what I need. Another place to spend money…

HDtracks looks to have everything on Grisman’s Acoustic Disc label, too.

Lossless versions of Grateful Dawg, Shady Grove, Pizza Tapes, Been All Around This World… :drools:

  13. mitch Says:

for 18 bucks go to your local record shop and buy the dang thing. then rip it in wav and convert.

  14. SillyWilly Says:

    dang, Selector

I can’t look at that stuff right now.

In two years, when I have my own income I’ll be back.

I don’t even have a nice sound system so I can’t justify it at all.

  15. SillyWilly Says:

i don’t own a device for playing vinyl.

i thought about buying one then i pictured my money flying out of my wallet like dead autumn leaves in a november wind to purchase records

and i realized that was dangerous.

  16. mitch Says:

divine intervention – the one night you decide to wait a little while to have your first bane of the day so you can be productive (which i’m not really being cause i’m talking on here) and the super comes to measure stuff around my whole place. so even if i puffed in the back it was gonna stink.

  17. jdub Says:

@T3, your Bday seals the deal for me. Gonna make it a point now.

I don’t buy anything from Phish except tickets. Call me a cheap bastard. I get the occasional DVD for Christmas. But if they drop a winter ’95, Summer ’93, or fall ’97 full tour box set I just might have to fork over the dough. They won’t do that until they retire though. Setting themselves up for consistent income after Phish is probably their game plan.

  18. mitch Says:

i loved buying vinyl in college. now i just think about the day i’ll have my own system again… or i go visit AW.

when i’m home for deer creek this summer, maybe i can gift you one of mine sitting in storage. i have a few.

  19. butterflyeffect Says:

    lol @SW

“for 18 bucks go to your local record shop and buy the dang thing. then rip it in wav and convert.”

For a 16 bit FLAC you’re probably right. Negligible improvement in the FLAC. (16 bit albums = $12)

    but 24 bit FLAC…
    Love Supreme…
That’s where $18 starts to sounds pretty good.

  22. butterflyeffect Says:

that’s your good karma right there mitch

  23. willowed Says:

not trying to be a dick but since he is taking requests, do you think I should make a sign that says:

    Put down the Martin
    and pick up the Languadoc

  24. kenny powers Says:
