Thanks for the Free recs – definitely going to feel the feeling i forgot. Going to hop on that 11/30 sequence next.

I haven’t DABbled into the murky waters of summer ’95 in a while. They have the “trapped in a maze, walls closing in, panic attack provoking choppy jammy” hitting hard in this DWD. I may need to crack a window for some air… Good, but INTENSE

  2. Robear Says:

duke, that was an ‘after midnight’ theme that Trey was ripping up on the Greek ‘Suzy’. not the Clapton ‘after midnight’, the other one.

Waiting for the Lord Infamous alias

  4. Mr. Palmer Says:

“Living after Midnight”- Judas Priest. trey loves that shit.

  5. HarryHood Says:

I really don’t care if Page or Trey can hit the high notes on Life On Mars. There’s still something about watching the perform it that I love…..

  6. voopa Says:

Sigh. No respect, I tell ya.

  7. Robear Says:

    thx. Palmer, yes.

    @basically everyone

Ah. Got it. Haven’t given the Greek stuff a proper spin in a while, just something that popped into my head.

Spinning the 11/30/97 sequence I was pimping before. It’s stellar. Dark psychedelic stuff.

  13. HarryHood Says:

Does anyone know where all the easter eggs from the Clifford Ball DVD are?

  14. voopa Says:

    @ Nono

“intense” is the perfect word to describe ’95 Phish jams. I also like “relentless.”

  20. kenny powers Says:

and once in a while, “scrumptralescent”.

  21. Robear Says:

so mr. powers, amongst the other gems you’ve strung together for our listening pleasure, I’m loving this RCMH ‘Ghost’. The Mike-led hip-bob-bass-assault = ear candy. i must have had a poor aud copy of that show, because I glazed right over this ‘Ghost’ the first time I spun it.

loud. house cleared out. just me and the little man. and an ice tube.

  22. Robear Says:

i predict @ kaya will wear out his ‘shift’ and ‘4’ key if he keeps spinning 1/1/11.

  23. Spasm Waiter Says:

4.02.98 Twist>Sneakin is making work so much better.

  24. DukeOfLizards Says:

The BB should chip in to get kaya a full-keyboard blackberry (if he doesn’t have one already). Dedicated “$” key.

  25. kenny powers Says:

    @ robear

i also have become a huge fan of that Ghost. i mean, i always liked it but as you said the AUD i had before made it hard to appreciate some of the nuances. That “bass bomb” section where Trey locks into those staccato funk/reggae-ish chords while Pages weaves some tasty synth washes over the crowd…THAT right there is my fave section.

they should do a proper SBD remaster of that run because that Ghost SBD is the highest quality of anything from that run and it’s pretty flat – almost mono – for a 2000 SBD. still very enjoyable when cranked, but could be that much better if they opened up the stereo image a good bit.
