2.27.2011 TAB @ The Riviera Theatre, Chicago, IL – Mike Thong

2.25.11 (M.Stein)

…I was charmed by the well-played acoustic arrangements of Phish’s canon. Some songs were played on an alternately-tuned second guitar, and some called for a capo. An interesting moment occurred during “Dirt.” Toward the end of the song Trey’s bright disposition became rather sullen and contemplative and it remained that way through the end of “Stealing Time From the Faulty Plan.” It was almost as though some painful thought or unspoken dedication had taken place…Read on here!

2.27.2011 TAB @ The Riviera Theatre, Chicago, IL – The Real Guy Forget

…The floor was densely packed tight, leaving little wiggle room for elbows to send off last minute tweets and texts. The lights dropped at 8:28 and with little fanfare Trey was atop his stool strumming the opening notes to Backwards Down The Number Line. As plenty of audience recordings have proved, the crowd was eager to participate, showering Trey with chorus like waves on a sandy shore. It appeared Trey might have been thrown a curve, as he tried to realign his lyrics with the audience’s refrain, eventually leading to building finish and a large crowd eruption to greet the Bad Lieutenant…Read on here!

yeah, gotta go walk the dogs before my lady friend gets in, back later on when I do my PTBL. Evening all…..

  2. Mr. Palmer Says:

all the road warriors are gonna skip PNC after Bethel. Thats where they drop the bombs i think.

  3. butter Says:

don’t think Bethel will be bad at all

good thing about amphitheaters in the woods is that there is lots of space, you can park and walk in usually

    we aren’t talking about 50,75 or 100 k people

    20 k tops as it holds 15k

and i haven’t seen an extra 5k wooks rolling around in 3.0 anywhere — a few thousand maybe at Red Rocks

  4. kenny powers Says:

all 3 versions of the Shoreline 97 remaster are now available as torrents on Demonoid

  5. krivraq Says:

funny Palmer, our own beds are halfway from Bethel to PNC. That East coast thing again, sorry board. okay now I’m outty

  6. albert walker Says:

that’s what I’m thinking. even Alpine only has 2 different 2 lane roads in

  7. butter Says:

AW -yea the 3 pack should cancel any rust right out

they’ll be comfy and not have to travel and have the sound dialed

  8. albert walker Says:

my girl is giving me mad shit already if I talk about Bethel. she’s pissed she can’t go cuz of work

gonna have to remember to not even mention that shit.

  9. fat bastard Says:

“ya see me in the club me drink expensive wine, me sight up the girls and i end up behind her.”

  10. Mr. Palmer Says:

Because the venue is only 4 years old, the sound system is as good as it gets in that place. great sound from every vantage point.

  11. butter Says:

hey tba, always good to hear from ya

i guess we take for granted that we can puff freely at Shoreline

oddly enough it seemed ok to puff at all the east coast venues until spac on leg 1 last year

  12. tela'smuff Says:

Mr. P – that Buff show from ’96 was real nice. my only time in that city, and it was cold, windy, and snowy. of course. anyway, thanks for putting it up. brings back some memories!

  13. kenny powers Says:

    this just in

    1/1/11 Simple = what?

  14. kenny powers Says:

even before the organic outtro jam, the 5:30-6:30 section is absolutely breathtaking and worthy of timeless Phish stature. gorgeous.

Simple and Reba = quote possibly the best two examples of Phish numbers with silly lyrics and heart melting jams.

  15. butter Says:

i’m also guessing tba is hooked up with boxes or vip or at least 100’s to call Shoreline “luxury”

don’t buy a lawn ticket and expect luxury to be you description Shoreline

  16. kenny powers Says:

but god damn that organic outtro is sweet.

  17. butter Says:

    jizzmatic

  18. Mr. Palmer Says:

Greek Simple or MSG Simple? nice matchup right there!

  19. kenny powers Says:

both all-Universe selections right there Palmer.

  20. kenny powers Says:

now i’m spinning the MSG Sand….next is Ghost.

Only heard those tunes once, right after they happened. enjoying myself.

  21. Mr. Palmer Says:

Damn KP, made me stop spinning the reggae to go back to some mag highlights. Starting w/ Twist through Bowie.

Kids in bed, gonna crack a beer, pack a freshie…..ahh friday night.

  22. kenny powers Says:

    no doubt P

i am honestly blown away by the Simple and Ghost. fucking all time versions….soooooooo pissed i was not there.

  23. kenny powers Says:

    this is possessed, ecstatic Phish.

  24. kenny powers Says:

    wwwwwwwoooooooooowwwwwwww.

  25. kenny powers Says:
