You’d hear a lot of dissent from many of the folks on here w/ that claim…
I loved it, but I don’t listen to enough 3.0 to rank…

Re: MSG Tweezer
@garret
Everyone’s mileage varies.
thanks Mr.P. although i don’t think i’ll pay to watch it on Moogis, even though it’s a great service. i’ll try to catch that free broadcast though.
Jennifer Dances – eck
Spread It Round – like
makes no sense. i’m a weirdo.
I enjoyed Jennifer’s Tweezer. Maybe it was just because I appreciated the effort of goig for it, but I’m a fan.
6 hours at Newark liberty. Finally on a plane. Woo hoo.
Taking off in a late night storm in Newark with 25 mph winds calls for…..
97 Detroit tweezer>>Bella>>twist >>piper
Sitting at the gate, lil plane rocking in the wind. Feels like sitting in the ocean in a kayak.
Msg Tweezer was fun. I’m a fan as well.
weather is downright awful @ Cub. safe travels.
Why put me on a plane to tell me I’m in a “holding box” for an hour?
Jumping in a time machine, destination, December 6th, 1997. Detroit Rock City!!
Echoing the safe travels wish cub…I was wondering what the abb thing on msg network is. See it listed on my directv. I don’t get the station but it is as few up from the boston sports stations. Wasn’t sure if they’ve been showing different shows every night
Thought y’all may dig this.
“Do you remember mix tapes? The owners of Mississippi Records—a vinyl-and-cassette-only record store located on North Mississippi Avenue in Portland, Oregon—most certainly do: They’ve put together the best mixes we’ve never seen (because you can get them only by visiting the store in person). But a Bay Area record label called Root Strata has digitized dozens of these tapes and distributed them (as free downloads) online. The series starts off with House of Broken Hearts—an hour-long collection of “Early R&B, Doo Wop, Rockabilly & Instrumentals”—and only gets better.
Other tapes are devoted to early soul music, ’60s rock, funk and hip-hop, various kinds of world music, politically minded jazz, ska and rocksteady, postwar gospel, Quebecois psych-rock, and all sorts of old-timey music (which is Mississippi Records’ sweet spot). You’ll find selections of Lullabies & Dream Songs, and a collection of Classical Music for & by the People; one of the most charming mixes contains Difficult Songs for Children. The series is addictive, but our recommendation comes with two caveats: (1) Each side of each cassette opens up as a single MP3 file; if you want to incorporate these songs into a mix of your own you’ll have to split the tracks manually. (2) Almost every one of these links works, and almost all of the downloads open without a hitch. But there are lots of them, and a few are quite old; if you experience technical difficulties, scroll down to the comments section and leave one of your own. ”

I love mixed tapes. I still send them as Christmas presents. This year was a four disc collection of what I imagine a Christmas party at James Brown’s house would of sounded like. So much fun to put together. Listened to 50 albums to distill down to 4.
Damn cub, thats a great fucking gift! I gave out discs for xmas too, but they were just straight up. Bootsy, James Brown, a real cool mix I got from the phish coventry blog. this is it if u wanna check it. I really dug it, had a great party flow.

4/4/98 on sirius tonight. Kind of bitterweet really. Thinking how lucky I was to have been in the building, how I don’t really have any specific memory of the show other than where we ate driving to providence and who I was with (and possibly what drugs were consumed). Also feel a little bit saddened by the realization that they will probably never jam a whole show like this again.
Didn’t want anyone’s bb bingo square to go unchecked today

Ain’t that a bitch joe. Sometimes I like to convince myself that I wasn’t at a show, cause it was so hot on playback, and I’m embarrassed to remember nothing about it. I love it too, though. Thousands of people and every one of them having a completely separate show. Crazy dichotomy that keeps me comin back. 4/4/98? Lucky mofo joe.
I look forward to digging into that. New music leads to more new music and >>>>. Before you know it, you’ve found obscure Gold.
The JB mix was fantabulous. JB> the JB’s >> tons of Meters >> bill withers >> Ike and Tina >> Donny Hathaway >> baby Huey >> Gil Scott Heron >> the roots >> sly. Plenty more funk n soul
It came with a letter from jb and no return address. But most of my friends know me too well and never doubted where it came from.
And the next night too…
Now you’re just showing off Joseph.
^ 🙂
4.3-4.98 Prov began the start of my solo Phish career -such a weird but awesome experience at those shows
