Cashortrade worked fine for me last year – the people seem to be legit. But I guess there’s a possibility of getting scammed anywhere.

curious…did any numbers ever come out regarding how many people signed-up/paid for the phish NYE webcasts?

Make it a good week all. Footage from Japan continues to astound. Hug a loved one.

Morning all, definitely thoughts and prayers to those in Japan

I will spin the Fukuoka Twist first this morning in honor of them

It’s clear to me that Global Warming, the melt of the ice caps and pollution are not what’s gonna do us in, but our specieswill perish by our own hand

  7. marcoesq Says:

^And maybe those pesky earthquakes, too

  8. marcoesq Says:

Anyone watch the Today show this morning? Pretty powerful stuff

They’re saying that 3 out of the 4 main corners of the Pacific shelf have experienced major earthquakes in the past year (Chile, New Zealand and now Japan) and that the San Andreas fault shouldn’t be too far behind

  9. nonoyolker Says:

Saw that Marco ::my dirty secret that I start my day with matt and al is out…:: Scary stuff man. They bumped the magnitude up to a 9.0 too. I can’t even imagine.

In other downer news, Owsley died in a car crash? RIP to an forward thinking fellow.

on a lighter note – ATTN hoops fans:

“The Fab Five” documentary on ESPN is must-see viewing. I was a freshman in high school when they were freshmen at Michigan, and remember how exciting that was.

    (a) looking back after all this time, it’s all the more amazing that a starting five of all freshmen went to the title game and barely lost to the epic Laettner/Hurley/Hill Duke team, and

    (b) being 15-ish at the time I didn’t really understand or appreciate the social/cultural significance of how they really were at the forefront of bringing hip-hop culture and trash talk to the game, as well as the way they were totally exploited by way of merchandise and their fame as teenagers and never saw a dime. Well, except for Webber who we later find was given monetary gifts by that booster.

    Anyway, it’s a gripping two-hour doc.

  11. Jtran Says:

I watched that last night too. I was too young at the time to be involved in any of it, but I’ve heard all about it in the past 10 years. Really interesting stuff.

Also happy to see the MG coverage.

Check that Couch Lady for sure. Some great stuff in there.

Ive really been digging Scott’s playing. Definitely a more traditional blues style than Red, but with his own touch. Big fan here.

  13. nonoyolker Says:

KP – itching to see that doc. That squad was huge back in the day. I think that hit when i was in middle school and it definitely sparked my interest in college hoops. Nice review pal, i am definitely pumped to spin it.

Speaking of college hoop – is there a BB tourney? I’d be all in for that.

Nice bit of Sheen on funnyordie:

    right but thats us too.

  15. kenny powers Says:

yeah guys, it’s fracking solid. tons of great old footage, not just of that freshman year but going way back to when Webber was 12 years old, lanky as hell and DUNKING in games.

  16. Jtran Says:

I would also be interested in the BB hoops tourney. Could probably get that going today for us.

    What’s the preferred bracket service?

  17. Guyute711 Says:

You guys are all young. I can remember watching that UNC Michigan game and I was just back from spring break I believe. It was my second year in college.

Good evening from Beijing – fuckin mental day of work here, interviewed a bunch of teachers, some good ones, some bad ones. Then did meetings till 9 pm, now hunting for some food. This east asian work ethic is killin me.

  21. bhizzle Says:

UNC Michigan game – is that where Webber calls for a TO they don’t have?

  22. EL Duderino Says:

I think Palmer stated that the 14th/tonight will be broadcasted on the MSG Network

  23. EL Duderino Says:

    People are saying that’s Duane’s ’59 Les Paul…

    Not sure if that’s true

  24. bhizzle Says:

Note to Self….. Remember MSG Broadcast!

  25. Guyute711 Says:
