TTFF: The Comeback Year

10.30.09 (G. Lucas)

****

Tweezer > Light” 12.5 II

On of the most impressive jam sequences of Fall ’09 with one of the darkest and most abstract “Lights” the band had dropped to that point.

Wolfman’s > Piper > Joy” 10.30 II

10.30.09 (W.Rogell)

A dark-horse segement of 10.30.09 that may includes the most creative jamming of Indio.

Rock and Roll” 8.8 II

While the first night of The Gorge proved most magical, this jam from night two is, arguably, the most impressive of both.

Back On the Train” 12.30 II

12.29.09 (W.Rogell)

Amidst a song-driven show, Phish blew out an unsustpecting, mid-second set “Back On the Train,” and crafted one of the jams of the year in the process.

46 Days” 11.18 I

The dirtiest funk jam of Fall tour came in the first set of all.

Stash” 7.30 I

Red Rocks (G.Lucas)

This “Stash” from Red Rocks opening frame set the stage for a transformative weekend in Colorado.

Disease > Twenty Years Later” 11.24 II

One of the year’s most creative jaunts sprouted from this mid-set “Disease” in Philly’s first show.

Split Open and Melt” 11.21 II

This first-set “Split” in Cincy upped the bar for the song in the 3.0 era.

  4. P.S.H.S. Says:

i’ve been on a serious double bag/long hammer kick this winter. 5.0 just doesn’t seem to do it anymore for me. and scotch was a bad idea, i like it to much and i’m too young to start down that road

  5. phoammhead Says:

got the generator fired up, spring equinox storm has the power knocked out all over

so far used it for coffee>hot water heater for showers>internet and a little Tom Petty, Full Moon Fever

daughter played some songs on ukulele, all self written – including one track called “no more phish blog”, a little tune about her dad being on the bb too much

one line of the tune “my dad’s gotta go to President Obama and tell him to make Phish blog illegal” and “let this be a lesson dad, that the power is out and you cant go on Phish blog, and you get to listen to your daughter play the uke -lay -laay”

  8. SillyWilly Says:

    @Tela’s

My dream nerdy purchase is each of the Chieftains 1-6 on vinyl.

but that purchase will have to wait.

  9. SillyWilly Says:

    @butter

i think your daughter is cooler than us.

she’s destined to a heady life it seems.

  10. Tzara's Ghost Says:

Huskies looking good, outplayed NC in almost every sense. Maybe a little too aggressive on defense though. Foul trouble may be an issue in 2nd half. Overall, this game has been as advertised. Are me and phoamm the only ones watching?

  11. EL Duderino Says:

    We have it on here…

I’m so College Basketballed out tho’

  12. Tzara's Ghost Says:

I hear you, dude. I skipped the Big 10/Big 12 stuff yesterday, don’t really connect with them. But this is your state. Or are you more Duke?

  13. phoammhead Says:

bek is going to head to downtown asheville this afternoon to buy a cute dress and hope to run into mike

she’s going to say, “hi mike. enjoying the afternoon? gonna play mound tonite?”

school girl crush . . . gotta luv it!

if mike plays mound tonite, then mound will meet the . . . . well, you know 😉

  14. SillyWilly Says:

    Im here with you, T-ghost.

UW UNC will hopefully go down to the wire

Im tired of whoring myself out to my bracket.

There’s something wrong in rooting for Pitt over Butler last night just for my bracket.

So, I’m back…rooting for close-ass games, the Badgers, and big upsets.

    it feels good.

  15. EL Duderino Says:

The SLF and her family are the Duke fans.
    Me… UNC

  16. Tzara's Ghost Says:

Hell yeah, silly, I’ll take Butler over Pitt, or Princeton over Kentucky (almost) or N Iowa over Kansas over my bracket any day. I’m going to lose anyway, I’m mired in the middle of the pack.

  17. Mr. Palmer Says:

Butter- that shit is hysterical! Love it. Kids are funny. Justs when you think they aren’t on to you, they nail you. classic

  18. tela'smuff Says:

after last nights Butler game, i’m burnt. that was brutal.

  19. SillyWilly Says:

Yeah, but Tghost, your best possible score is tied for highest. So, you’re still very much in the hunt.

all your elite 8 teams are intact which is huge

  20. Tzara's Ghost Says:

Poised for my run! I’ll take a 7 over a 2 over my bracket right about now though. It’s a no lose situation.

Having a breakfast style Fin du Monde. Belgian White style ale from Quebec. Awesome stuff.

  21. phoammhead Says:

    you’re only up by 1 @Tzara’s

if you outplayed us in almost every sense, you better build up a bigger lead! 🙂

  22. phoammhead Says:

had to go for a second bloody . . . you know, just for good measure

  23. Tzara's Ghost Says:

@phoamm–don’t I know it. Got some local refs for the game I see. 12 fouls to 2. Really though, some lapses getting back on defense, and aggressive defense leading to a lot of free throws.

So yeah, “almost” every sense. 🙂 Huskies can play like a Final Four team for stretches, which they did in the first half. They can also play like a .500 team or worse for stretches. Which they did in the first half.

  24. uncle ebenezer Says:

does anyone know of a settings option in iTunes where you can play a song from an external drive WITHOUT the song automatically getting copied to the hard disk?

  25. phoammhead Says:

    yes!
