Just the whole “zip” thing. Gives you something to do when you unzip… It makes the files a little bit smaller for downloading ease, but there shouldn’t be any loss of quality once unzipped. I’m not sure how all the tech works behind it, but that’s the gist

    cool, thanks man

right on butter! i’ll grab that tonight. my first Dirty Dozen show was Bonnaroo in 2002 and I was instantly impressed with his guitar playing (assuming that was him?). He seemed to be a pretty important piece to the already explosive band. I’ll be sure to give my thoughts on it. Thanks!

    Where my dates at yo!?

Butter- Hooking up a mediafire acct has been on my “to do” list for quite a while now. After you’ve tested the waters, I may hit you (and others- garret the carrot) up for some knowledge. Finally have some free time in my future and there are a handful of things I’d like to throw up for others to enjoy.

    Butter –
If you are on a Mac – go onto the file icon – right click – it will make a pop-up window with options – you want to “create an archive” or “compress” (name of file). choose that, and it will make a .zip file next to the original.

  17. garretc Says:

Yeah butter, my email says exactly what jonacho just said, so yeah…

    RE: .zip files and .rar

If you don’t have winrar, download it.

Then you right-click on the folder and click “add to archive” (there should be a green/purple symbol for winrar next to this) and it should zip for you. Then you upload that to mediafire.

Then to unzip a file, you’d right-click the .zip and click “extract files…”

However, you don’t need to .zip folders to put them in mediafire, with megaupload you do though.

Hope I could help a bit.

  19. voopa Says:

    Yeah!

  20. garretc Says:

Huh, didn’t realize you didn’t need to zip folders to do mediafire, I always assumed you did for some reason…

  21. tela'smuff Says:

with my Mac, i go to the itunes music folder, find the album i want, compress that (righ click), and then upload that zip file.

  22. butter Says:

  23. butter Says:
