Festival Express II
Here’s another run through Phish’s eight festivals, one highlight at a time. Enjoy the jams as the weekend (and Super Ball IX) approaches!
***
One of The Clifford Ball’s lasting highlights (with a scorching second jam in “Mike’s.”)

These festival-sized grooves laced Sunday afternoon’s set at The Great Went. This version included teases of “Cities” and “Simple,” both highlights of the previous night.
***
Some quintessential Summer ’98 funk on the grandest stage of the season.

“Piper” 7.18.99 III
One of “Piper’s” finest versions; a thrilling ride.

This “Twist” provided an introspective jam that truly evoked the passage of time as the calendar turned to 2000.

Another psychedelic masterpiece from IT.

“Walls -> Runaway Jim > Jibboo” 8.14.04 I
Though Coventry may have been a train wreck, its opening sequence was surprisingly hot.

“2001 > Light > Slave” 11.1.09 III
The closing sequence at Festival 8.
“The band will not be touring this fall.”
noooooo

WEST COAST just got assfucked!!
@KP, facebook page

Phish kicks off their 2011 Summer Tour on Memorial Day weekend, with three consecutive nights (May 27, 28 & 29) at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in Bethel, NY. Stops along the way include Cleveland, Cincinnati, Mansfield, Darien Lake and more, as well as 2-night runs in Holmdel, Columbia and Alpharetta. The band also plays host to Super Ball IX,their own 3-Day Festival over Fourth of July Weekend in Watkins Glen, NY. The band will not be touring this fall.
It just seems like there are so few dates/stops…
Either this is a mind fucking, or a good ole Buffalo Billed fucking by Red Light.
Gorge is the place IMO
West Coast Trusty Stops.
That’s not a tour. phuck dead light.
guess it couldn’t be that easy. Can’t believe they’re are doing three weeknights to close.
@DF
Haha, I was just thinking it might be called that…
Wow, that’s not very many dates… But hey, the west coast dates we expected are there at least?
anyone out west not living near Portland or Seattle will have to fly up to the Gorge, for the most part. Physically / mentally not possible to get from Gorge to Hollywood with only one day off, unless you fly.
One day off to get up to Tahoe. But you don’t have your car because you had to fly from Gorge to Hollywood.
Phish at a festival? Not the most exciting track record.
::starts looking for closer, more affordable past-times than Phish::
@Dude
Leo is absolutely correct about gov’t jobs. The wheels move slow. People get mad at me w/my gov’t job if I do things to quickly. They think it makes them look bad.
Hang in there. They’re just taking their sweet ass time.
@robear
these dates aren’t for west coasters. They’re for east coasters doing vacations. At least thats the way it seems.
fucking a LW. you’re right! over to the new blog page people!
Gorge > Hollywood > Tahoe will be tough for most. I may have to skip the Gorge again, and doing LA > Tahoe doesn’t seem possible right now. But I’ll take 3 shows w/in driving distance (even tho each will involve overnight stays).
No CO shows. Fuck.
whoah…east coast leg2 dates got superball’d
even more incentive to hit gorge & tahoe
There WILL be more NE dates, just holding off on the announcement for a little, which is good, no rush IMO.
If the tour was actually ending at UIC I believe the announcement would have stated so. Ex: “And wrapping up some tour with a 3 night stand at UIC..”
Lol at leg 2 . Destination ph shows. Geez I’d like to see all these new dates, but I’d need a new prevost and a driver. I can almost feel the love.
recreating some famous film scenes using only dogs as actors this semester.
heres a VERY rough, first cut of the trash compactor scene from star wars. filmed in a set we built in my garage.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ung1AIZZFqI
we also did scenes from pulp fiction, titanic, and wonderful life.
^ dont ind the german subtitles in the “movie” sections of clips… i downloaded the version of the scene from youtube. ill replace it with better version when i do a full, solid complete cut of the scene. this was just the rough cut
N judah that bring back nightmares… baked as heck going to work train so crowded, almost cried…
