Festival Express II
Here’s another run through Phish’s eight festivals, one highlight at a time. Enjoy the jams as the weekend (and Super Ball IX) approaches!
***
One of The Clifford Ball’s lasting highlights (with a scorching second jam in “Mike’s.”)

These festival-sized grooves laced Sunday afternoon’s set at The Great Went. This version included teases of “Cities” and “Simple,” both highlights of the previous night.
***
Some quintessential Summer ’98 funk on the grandest stage of the season.

“Piper” 7.18.99 III
One of “Piper’s” finest versions; a thrilling ride.

This “Twist” provided an introspective jam that truly evoked the passage of time as the calendar turned to 2000.

Another psychedelic masterpiece from IT.

“Walls -> Runaway Jim > Jibboo” 8.14.04 I
Though Coventry may have been a train wreck, its opening sequence was surprisingly hot.

“2001 > Light > Slave” 11.1.09 III
The closing sequence at Festival 8.
i’m so excited for these west coast dates, even though there is absolutely zero chance of me being able to hit any of them. just hoping all you lefties get some lovin from phish. oh and im hopin for a 3 pack at uic pav so maybe there are some shows for me http://phishthoughts.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif
whoops, well that didnt work
commence RCMH Ghost (5.22.2000). another shapiro archive classic. haven’t heard it in a while, should be interesting.
also, just in case. does anybody have the ’95 Sugarbush shows? i looked in etree and didn’t see them.
commence star wars sound effects and soundscape over a fat repeated bass line. (5.22.2000 ghost)
RCMH Ghost doesn’t do all that much for me.
:hopes not to get w a x’d:
Bingos, out of the pool!!!
i hear ya bingo’s. but it’s a decent shot at the electronica/trance sound. (i am out of my league when talking about these genres) and danceable.
@ Telas’
If these WCD’s don’t work out the way you expect them to, will you consider the NC run for fun weekend?
Duder is bangin the drum for the southern run.
Page is the RCMH Ghost MVP
why Not?
We have great people here…Walnut Creek is one of the nicest sheds in the country, it’s smaller than DC and the surroundings are much prettier.
Plus the 2nd annual BBBBQ in “The Yarden”… What more could you ask for IMO. except maybe a 2 day run @ WC
Thats probably my problem. Not a fan of electronica/trance at all. Some say that is the best Ghost of all time, which is fine by me, but its not my bag at all. Whatever blows your dress up, ya know.
so freakin’ tired today. i think i’ve realized a couple beers and a bane session after 8:00pm on a work night is not a good idea. had restless leg and mind syndrome until like 1:00am. one puff too many i guess for my tolerance.
but damn that 11.19.97 Bathtub sounded gooood.
the only bummer is Charlotte’s Verizon Wireless is one of the worst sheds in the country! I wish they ‘d knock it down and build a Alpharetta/WC style shed here. CLT’s shed is too big
At least the sound is good on the lawn at CLT.
“Page is the RCMH Ghost MVP”
yep.
is Charlotte the venue with the extended open air seating and hence tiny crappy lawn? if so, i’ll be looking to avoid the lawn there but will be happy searching for discount lawns at Raleigh.
is there a BB scene forming for Portsmouth? I have the next day off just in case but i’m not sure if i have any leads on sleeping hookups. was thinking it could be smart to skip the tour closer and book a cheap room in Rehoboth Beach that night instead…hit Dogfish Head that night, chill on the beach the next morning and drive back that afternoon/evening.
RCMH is a “meh” run. Most of it is kinda uninspired IMO.
Dude – i would in a heart beat, if our 10 year anniversary wasn’t that weekend. we are renting a secluded cabin in the Rocky Mtns, somewhere. Leg I doesn’t work for me in any way shape or form this year. Spending July 4th in Bozeman. I refuse to go back to Cincy to see a show at Riverbend. Place sucks ass.
Top of the mornin’ all!
@K-Double is correct. What a guy, with a steel trap for a mind!
Today is Jacy’s 6th birthday!
for those that don’t already know, Jacy has ‘Hydranencephaly’. You’ll have to google that one. He’s greatly outlived his life expectancy. Too much for words. Amazing little spirit. He’s got a blank space where his mind should be.
Rainy day. SLF off to Hawaii. Down time on the homestead.
Today Phish announces the west coast destination stops?
@ KP
Yes. WC has the same kinda deal, but SO much smaller DC has that too.
Walnut Creek is a beautiful venue and lot/lots
started my day with Twist > Caspian
i actually have time to spin all the tunes when Miner goes this slow…lol
Morning folks
SF Outsidelands Lineup announcement today, West Coast leg announced tomorrow? ::fingers crossed::
Heart is hanging heavy today. Just heard that a friend is in grave condition. One of the sweetest persons you will ever meet. Huge fan of the boys, huge fan of life, and music. Life is precious. My love to my friends and family.
@ robear
Happy Birthday to your little man!
You are an amazing loving person to do what you do for this special needs child. If I believed in god/heaven I would say you have a special place there for what you are doing! and I truly mean that.
Kudos to you and yours!
