Woah woah woah folks, lets settle down on the weather predictions. The average max temperature for August is 85ish, and the mean is low 70s. According to several sites found via googling at least.
Game of life is not played on google G
Trust me, it’s the dessert, with very little shade, be prepared
And yet, no matter how hot it is in the lot, take a sweatshirt to the show. You’ll freeze your ass off.
i’m looking at these tents made to fit onto the back of my VW Routan. They look reasonable enough.
i can’t wait for the Gorge, but at the same time, that means summer is almost over. time is a bitch.
for real, if you’ve never listened to The Fleet Foxes, give their new LP a shot.
Ghosty- I’m gonna head back up here and fly out of the Hammer on Monday- got a cheap flight to SFO and gonna roll San Fran> Reno> San Fran with some of my people. Don’t have to fuck w/ SeaTac or LAX. Sorry to miss the H-bowl, but this gives me a chance to get up with some old friends. Really looking forward to Outside Lands taboot.
just downloaded the fleet foxes, gonna give it a whirl. thanks for the reccomendacion
Nice plan, flarrwolf. I was thinking of skipping OL, and just bumming in SF, beatnik style for a day or two. But if the auditorium show pans out, of course I’ll try my ass off to make that one. Festivals make me claustrophobic though. Bumbershoot, anyone?
I’ve been seeing shows in SF for almost as long as I’ve been Seeing Phish, this Outsidelands Phish is like combining two traditions that have been separate for the most part, besides the Phil and Phriends show we have been celebrating
Damn, I hope the late night show pans out, with a Summer off of touring that would really make my summer
its really awesome that the band has this fairly extended summer going to make up for the lack of shows for the rest of the year. pretty cool move by them, as theyre clearly enjoying playing together.
cant wait for summer 11
tzara – i’ll be driving from the gorge to tahoe and might have an extra spot if you need a ride.
Word, tela’s. That sounds like a fun drive, 90210 dvd’s and all. Kind of thinking of hittng Hollywood Bowl too, so we’ll see. This might be a pretty rare chance for me to hit most of a tour, so I’m thinking I might go for it.
Is anyone going to HB? Haven’t heard much chatter. It would be embarrassing if I was the only one there.
I’m planning on doing the skip show. Flights from Sac to Burbank are still $90.
Remember to be purposefully defiant and unapologetic, to defer judgment and not to stigmatize, but to except no excuses. IT.
These shows are my favorite post-Jerry shows, by a long shot. They’ve withstood the test of time and get better with age like a fine wine (or Phil Lesh). 4/15/99 was my first time ever seeing Trey and Page live and I was thoroughly impressed. Trey’s rugged, dirty sounding guitar contrasted perfectly with Kimock’s floaty psychedelic playing. The Hello Old Friend gave my goosebumps and the 39 minute Viola Lee was worth the price of admission itself. Hearing Page sing the Franklins on 4/16/99 was the perfect introduction to his playing and vocals. I’m glad so many people had the same reaction to these shows. The 6/5/99 Phil and Friends with Jorma was awesome and the Summer Sessions Phil tour to Red Rocks, Cuthbert, Greek Theater was some sweet outdoor summer loving. It’s always nice to rehash like it’s 1999.
‘Sup y’all. Chilling in CT. Just got off the phone with Kenny Powers, well actually that was a bowl and a half ago, but we were planning like mad scientists for Bethel weekend. I am so excited I could just out oft skin.
Anyone else getting the itch for summer ?
