i was interested to learn today that kimock and phil dislike each other now. kimock hates further and the whole idea of further. wierd.

  2. purplehumpbackwhale Says:

  3. Kurt from Indy Says:

oh man just got home from seeing cornmeal at the vogue, woo hoo that was fun, i forgot how much i love lil hippie chicks, sweet ratio there too, i thought at one point they were playing dark star for sure, they werent.but benny and the jets for encore: too cool for school, great night at the broad ripple, if anyones interested

  4. Kurt from Indy Says:

  5. Kurt from Indy Says:

    ^best impression of blossum’s woah

  6. butter Says:

This was the mashing, colliding, merging, unifying, and converging of GD and Phish

    Pure Magic indeed Miner

  7. Mr.Miner Says:

these were pretty much my favorite concerts of my life…

  8. Kurt from Indy Says:

    stella-whats his shirt say?

  9. Kurt from Indy Says:

you know trey had to be waiting forever to play this show

  10. butter Says:

When Trey plays the Jerry solos he still sounds like Trey, but phrasing his OWN licks in a Jer style

As soon as Trey locked onto any of Kimock’s dreamy floaty ideas, it was on, and they were able to vanish right out of song structure

When Kimock has a backbone of a band with some vocals, watch out

Just one of those quirky artist types that has a gift, but needs others to bring out his best

He’s playing a show at jazzfest this year with Zigaboo Modeliste on drums and Henry Butler on piano

  14. P.S.H.S. Says:

  15. Mike in Austin Says:

This is such great stuff. Hard to believe it was 12 years ago.

  16. Mr. Palmer Says:

    AUD of 4.15.99. Miller style.

  17. Jtran Says:

    Morning comrades

A little Vegas Wolfman’s to start my morning before getting to these highlights

  18. tela'smuff Says:

off to stand in line for Record Store Day. Wish me luck!

  19. Mr. Palmer Says:

Of all the shows i’ve missed over the years, these three are at the top of the list by a large margin when it comes to regret. Over Cypress and countless others. Warfield is a special place. Lucky enough to have seen a few shows there, just not phish or P & F.

  20. joe Says:

very nice saturday morning treat here.

  21. vegas wolfmans Says:

“Regardless of anyone’s musical expectations- no matter how high- these three nights blew them straight out of the water. With a sense of the historic implications, the inspriation that they represented to so many people, and ridiculous musical skills, the band created three nights of absolute, unadulterated magic.” -Miner

^THIS!!! (and I agree 100%). Great reviews of all three nights. The best I’ve got is: “indescribable” I have a hard time breaking them down into individual shows in my memory, so whenever I listen, I run through all 3 starting with Viola Lee. Euphoric recall indeed.

  22. joe Says:

too much of a tease here. I had to go to archive.org to fire up the run in it’s entirety. That should be a good way to kill an 8 hour shift. (actually only 6.5 left.)

  23. Corey Says:

off to buy a record too, @telas…good luck.
    happy buying everyone.
get out there and get yourself a record.

  24. It's Up To You Says:

Mr. Miner – Thanks for posting. I’m enjoying the ‘Dark Star -> It’s Up To You’ tremendously this morning. I’d forgotten how good it is.

You’ve mentioned ‘It’s Up To You’ once or twice the past two to three years, including once as an idea for a song for Phish to cover, which I would agree with. If you haven’t checked out the version here: http://www.archive.org/details/skb2006-01-22_16bit , which is a top notch multi-track Miller recording, I highly recommend doing so. It’s spectacular.

    Thanks again for posting!

Stella Maris (Latin for Star of the Sea)
