TTFF: Tour Bookends

The Gorge '09 (W.Rogell)

With the Gorge exactly one week away, let’s take the final Friday before tour to review a few seminal jams that have gone down at both the Gorge and leg two’s closing locale, UIC Pavilion. Though some of these tracks have been posted before, they have the type of timeless staying power to warrant hearing again. A five-five split between the Gorge and UIC brings the last week before tour to an end. Enjoy the music…leg two awaits!

    Good morning, everyone!

In a great headspace this morning.

Finished the internship yesterday. My boss said I did a great job and they would highly recommend me to the State Public Defenders Office and that I should apply for a job before christmas. I loved my boss. He was such a wonderful mentor. It made me feel great that he thought I did a good job.

Drove to Cleveland from Wisco last night. My girls dad is getting married tonight. Busting out my new suit I bought last weekend…first suit I’ve ever owned.

It was a relaxing ride. Spent time just conceptualizing my next four or five weeks.

Going to spend a lot of time with my girl. Then I’m seeing 5 phish shows. Pretty sure I can make the Colorado shows happen too. Just have to wait for the loan money to get in before buying the airfare.

Sending out the best vibes to everyone. Another hot phish run is right around the corner

  5. Fly Says:

Everything’s coming up Millhouse, SW, and you’ve earned it.

  6. phoammhead Says:

i’ve got to second that . . . wowza, silly!

  7. SillyWilly Says:

    Thanks, Fly

A lot of people have contributed to what will be a beautiful 5 weeks for me.

Just happy to be living it right now

Can’t wait to see everyone on tour

  8. SillyWilly Says:

It all started when you told me to dress up for the interview for the internship

So I think you deserve some credit

  9. willowed Says:

    Way to go Silly.

Celebrate these big life events. The older I get the more value I’ve put on these significant things that happen to me and my family.

It gives me a nice feeling.

The trick was to surrender to the flow. aaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Let out a deep breath and smile my man!

Yeah, that’s how I feel sometimes.

  10. alf Says:

some serious heavy hitters today, thanks miner

congrats silly, and job well done

anyone got any UIC crash space or interested in splitting a room? starting to look at options

  11. bhizzle Says:

    TTFF is the new TGIF.

Silly….nice suits always make me feel good when sportin…don’t make the first be your last. Congrats

  12. willowed Says:

I really like the jam at the end of Lizards. Sometimes it hits me right in the sweet spot. Some emotional type shit right there.

  13. phoammhead Says:

naw, silly . . . i may have made a suggestion, but you’re making it happen for yourself . . . well done, man!

  14. alf Says:

funny… i also just bought my first suit. took me 5 more years than you though silly 😮

  15. SillyWilly Says:

It took me an hour and a half to tie one full windsor knot in my tie last Sunday night before doing the trial. Haha. I was cursing and getting pissed because I couldn’t figure it out.

Totally, man. I think the trick to life is just losing yourself in the day to day. Do your best in the moment. Let yourself be passionate about things. And things tend to work out.

  16. Jtran Says:

Leaving VT for Seattle at 6:15 tonight. Tour starts early!

  17. Luther T. Justice Says:

Safe travels Jtran. Show ’em how its done on the west side!

  18. Gavinsdad Says:

Nice job Silly and travel safe Jtran!

  19. Gavinsdad Says:

UIC HOTEL – I have an extra room with 1 queen bed reserved mon nite at the Burnham…kinda Pimpy….$188/nite…if anyone wants holler. Otherwise I’ll let it go closer to.

  20. bhizzle Says:

Once I had to get online to search how to tie a tie. I got caught by co-workers and I still catch shit over it.

Full windsor is no joke. I gave up. I rock the half windsor.

Also, that Seven Below justifies the world’s need for a more heavy metal Trey!

  21. Beantownboy Says:

    Happy Friday, fellas.

Sounds like everyone is in a great head space exactly one week from the start of a new tour.

About to head out to the White Mountains for some camping and to hike Mt. Jefferson with the soon-to-be Mrs. this weekend with our big weekend/ceremony exactly one month away. We thought it best to escape to the woods and ourselves to put us in the right place both physically and emotionally to handle these next few weeks.
