TTFF: Tour Bookends

The Gorge '09 (W.Rogell)

With the Gorge exactly one week away, let’s take the final Friday before tour to review a few seminal jams that have gone down at both the Gorge and leg two’s closing locale, UIC Pavilion. Though some of these tracks have been posted before, they have the type of timeless staying power to warrant hearing again. A five-five split between the Gorge and UIC brings the last week before tour to an end. Enjoy the music…leg two awaits!

^my wife won’t let me watch family guy

  2. ThePigSong Says:

just finished 120 episodes of the office over the last year with the wife.

transitioned into season 1 ep 1 of family guy yesterday.

  4. ThePigSong Says:

earlier I said I hadn’t listened to a full set of F8 since that weekend, I take it back.

Acoustic set gets mad play on weekend mornings. Very little goes better with good coffee and a cute happy wife.

  5. bob dylan Says:

not missing much. they replay the same joke over and over and do flashbacks of other episodes. i get bored quickly with that show.

  6. Gavinsdad Says:

I really like seeing how things go from leg to leg tour to tour.

Remember last summers east coast juke box tour and then the rise of the ocedoc out west? Then this summers leg 1 tighter rotation? I dont know why mere weeks would change the bands approach but im sure they’ll flip the script yet again for leg 2 antics. Wondering what tune gets the treatment at the gorge this time around.

    (yem opener)

  7. Leo Weaver Says:

Sure would like it to be Scents gdad. I’d also like Twist to go big. Tahoe Twist sounds about right.

  8. DukeOfLizards Says:

I was thinking YEM opener too.

    … at UIC.

  9. Gavinsdad Says:

There have been 12 yem openers.

I had thought “gorge twist” actually but I really am not good at this sorta thing. Would love for scents waves and ocean sing to stick around

  10. DukeOfLizards Says:

Granted I’ve never been to the Gorge, but based on what I imagine it being like, Scents just seems like the perfect tune for that venue. Such a big, majestic song.

  11. Gavinsdad Says:

The wedge has been played less than Billy Breathes. Wacky.

  12. bob dylan Says:

scents was my pick for the gorge pre superball. post superball it seems like a lock. just no possum plz.

  13. butter Says:

    go ahead and twist around……wheeewww

  14. butter Says:

rooting against Possum is a losing battle, bob

  15. bob dylan Says:

shark week on discovery. 18ft great white thats 4 foot wide. crazy big.

  16. bob dylan Says:

lets say I’m not in a “your end is the road” mood right now.

i texted matty asking him to pass that along to the band. he’s on green sky tour so i haven’t heard back yet.

  17. bob dylan Says:

i saw cowboys and aliens tonight. it was what i expected. entertaining but could easily be a rental. i hadn’t seen a movie in a theatre since inception tho and before that it had been months. i miss going to the movies more often.

  18. DukeOfLizards Says:

    Speaking of movies, @everyone

Do not see Crazy Stupid Love, even if your SLF insists.

    Which mine did.

It is far and away the worst movie I’ve ever paid to see, and I’ve walked out of a few in my time.

  19. DukeOfLizards Says:

Obviously not a movie I’d ever consider watching voluntarily but, well, dates are dates.

It was a legitimately awful excuse for a motion picture.

  20. bob dylan Says:

my mom was complaining we saw the cowboy alien instead of crazy stupid movie. good to hear we went the way we did.

  21. butter Says:

sorry Bob, i’ll kindly remove my foot from mouth

  22. bob dylan Says:

sad thing is, you’re right, we’re gonna get it anyway. they freakin love that song, don’t they?

i’ll keep a fatty in my pocket in case of a possum and spark it for Jackson.

  23. butter Says:

thanks for the vibes and words earlier, guys

wifey fainted back in the beginning of July in Maui at dinner, and we ended up in the emergency room

since then weve been in the hospital about 5 times in the past weeks but we’ve been assured the baby is good and mama is good, and that fainting is a rare symptom of the third trimester

they dont have her on bed rest, just have to obviously be careful and not be driving a car or exerting too much energy and stay hydrated

if we do Tahoe, know that we have our midwife friend we are sharing a house with and a Kaiser 5 minutes from the venue and our house

also will have blankets and lawn chairs and a comfy spot for the mrs., duh, soft spot to faint on 🙂

at this point i am not pushing for it, in fact i’m encouraging to stay home, but she really wants to go

if we go, i’m looking at it like spending a few nights in a comfy rental house with friends, and we may get to roll over to the show

honestly my biggest fear is the elevation making her faint, but she feels faint about once a day no matter what she does

back up plan is to stream it at bigjigs and play with his dogs

    life is good

    thanks for playin

  24. bob dylan Says:

wow, sorry thats happening butter. glad everything sounds as good as can be all things considered. i had an ex who had fainting spells for a while and the doctors are always very chill about it.

is there gonna be a real stream for tahoe? or you mean couch tour.

i gotta get me a girl as committed to hitting shows as mrs butter. thats my kinda woman.

  25. butter Says:

    speculating/educated guess

was told there are a couple more official vid streams for leg 2
