any recs for a more affordable hotel option in NYC for New Years?

I’d like to make it, but the wife isn’t going to be down with dropping 1k+ on hotel rooms.

  16. Mr. Palmer Says:

Pig- look into hotels across the river. Rutherford/ Secaucus area. A 12 minute train ride to MSG.

  19. Dr Pronoia Says:

So the MSG rumor is very strong right? Any details on # of shows?

That would definitely take some of the edge off the increasingly likely chance that I’m not going to get the Duke job

  20. phoammhead Says:

miner said yesterday he’s heard 3 at msg and maybe 1 more somewhere else

  21. ThePigSong Says:

I’ll look into that Palmer, thanks.

checked into the YMCA last year, checked right out and went to the Sheraton. No offense to Sumo, I would totally do it if I was solo. Wife was not digging the old school dormitory style, especially since we just had flown in from Antigua.

  22. ThePigSong Says:

I’ve got to pipe up with a “Go Green!” this morning since I know how many Irish fans we’ve got here. Not that it’s going to be much of a game 😉

  23. ThePigSong Says:

I just checked vrbo.com and there seems to be a decent amount of nice condos/townhomes that are reasonably priced.

  24. Mr. Palmer Says:

good call Pig. Forgot about that site. Friend of mine got a great deal on a one bedroom a week before the run last year. People leave the city to visit family and rent their place for a few extra bucks.

  25. phoammhead Says:

met c0wfunk last nite at a free outside bluegrass show in downtown asheville.

@c0w really cool to finally meet you! and your wife. that’s interesting that neither of us recognized the other. i figured we’d have recognized each other. you were way more chill than i would have imagined you, but that may be because i was kinda lit! anyways, bek and i really enjoyed catching up with you.
