“Tarvaris Jackson is going to surprise everyone with his play in our losses this season, tight end Jamison Konz is a threat to make crucial mistakes from anywhere on the field, and no one’s even going to see Charlie Whitehurst coming—he’s that bad,” said Carroll, adding that the team may soon unleash fullback Eddie Williams, a little-known third year player with no actual playing experience who will undoubtedly perform terribly in key short-yardage situations.

solid idea here for anyone looking to make a little money on lot next summer

i think phish shows would be a lot more fun if like 25-30% of the audience was rocking this stuff

  3. Mike in Austin Says:

Suzy > Rocking after Midnight > Suzy

  4. MrCompletely Says:

telas, we should just start a new category called “Suzies” which means songs that most people are totally burned out on but they play really well almost all the time these days, so by the end you are enjoying it but you’re still never happy to hear it start

e.g. Julius is a Suzy, sorta

BTW I also think we should start the “Peyton Manning MVP” for hte player each year whose injury absence causes the greatest collapse…I mean by definition such a player must be valuable, right? Kind of an extension of the VORP concept in stats. Peyton Manning a dead lock for the inaugural Peyton Manning MVP award.

the article comes with a slogan you can use to help your sales too:

“cause scarier hallucinations than LSD…and sometimes provide the super-human strength of PCP”

  6. tela'smuff Says:

yeah, that’s true @Mr C. there are a few “Suzies” out there that I groan when played, but manage to have a fun time with by the end. Although Sample really hasn’t reached level with me. Seems to consistently suck.

no doubt about Manning. wow. i’ve heard murmers of the Dolts trying to get Favre now.

  7. brother Says:

@joe…i know this sounds crazy but i’d put a bill on vikings and 4 pts over the lions on sunday. lions a bit overrated based on first two games. can’t stop the run. peterson will go nuts.

  8. ThePigSong Says:

Just picked up ‘The Gunslinger’ from the library. If I don’t enjoy it I am going to hold Lycan personally responsible. 😉

  9. brother Says:

that’s the only line that jumps out at me so far next week. since i can no longer gamble….for some reason i’m actually hoping to see you succeed and raise the nye funds. i’ll live vicariously

  10. ThePigSong Says:

oh, and Mr C – when you rec’d DMZ were you talking about a novel or the “graphic novel”?

  11. brother Says:

if you really want to raise those funds tho i’d stay away from NFL. suckers bet. wait till college basketball starts. the best sport in which to clean house. and i’m not talkin Duke v NC, i’m talkin North Dakota State v Southern Utah. get to know teams in small conferences inside and out. vegas has no idea how to set the line for those games.

  12. butter Says:

yea interesting that you never knew Peyton played hella defense and special teams and was a helluva coach too

  13. joe Says:

I’m not taking advise from someone who no longer gambles. 🙂 no offense.

  14. MrCompletely Says:

    graphic novel @pigsong

  15. joe Says:

that looks way more prickish than intended.

  16. joe Says:

    my favorite onion sports piece

@brother, true, if you’re serious about gambling as a profession the NFL’s not where it’s at, unless you have some local pigeons to work on. very hard to consistently beat the house. but those small conference ncaa games are hard to build up knowledge on unless you can dedicate a ton of time to it, at which point it’s just another job IMO

for me personally I am not trying to make real money here, I started with a little stake and have been slowly growing it, I am really just testing myself and trying to have fun. Since the NFL is so tough to game, if you can do it, it feels like a real victory and makes everythign a little more fun

that’s the level at which I like to keep it. basically I have a little weekly NFL budget and I use it as a “put up or shut up” to myself. I also find I remember lessons a lot better if I lose a little money from the mistake so it ups my learning curve.

I do suspect the Vikings are a little better than they’ve looked or the way people are thinking about them…I don’t think they suck, they’re just a meh team with a bad QB in a tough div…that will be a very interesting game for sure

@butter – that’s the karma part here – the Colts have been hiding behind Peyton for years, letting the rest of their team decay and counting on him to win multiple games a year single handed. Pigeons > home to roost IMO

  18. MrCompletely Says:

if anyone thinks “graphic novels” are still kiddie comics with a fancy name…give that first DMZ collection a try

  19. SillyWilly Says:

    Good evening, everyone

Hope everyones having a good night

I’m on my way to PA for some correction within the community

  20. joe Says:

    @bro – I also agree. I was just making a bad joke.

finally listening to the Vermont show. nice little opening of the second set segment for sure. really great way to cap off a stellar summer from them.

  21. joe Says:

what site do you guys use for wagering? I currently use a friend of a friend’s ‘guy’, and wouldn’t mind distancing myself from that element.

  22. Mr. Palmer Says:

    Go Big Blue!

Get a win tonight, beat a Vick- less Eagles next week and then the season can start.

Starts tonight. Pressure Bradford, Run the football.

  23. SillyWilly Says:

I played football for Southern Utah University for a fall.

    That place sucks.

    That’s all

  24. joe Says:

I think Slave is a great example of how far the band has come since 09.

  25. Mr. Palmer Says:

Oct 13-15 I’ll be in Chicago for a conference. Hopefully i’ll get some free time. Staying at the Palmer House……go figure. 🙂
