i had a super super lucky/tuned in week this week so I was just bragging a little earlier. happened to come after some NFL smacktalk here so it made me look good. But tho I have mad NFL opinions I don’t win like that every week by a long shot

@miner. from the sound of it, it should be right up my alley. i like to buy the big coffee table books for my home. books that i can pick up and read when i’m unwinding and have the time. most reading done on the road is paperback, laptop or phone. can’t wait (not bart scott voice).

  3. MrCompletely Says:

yeah i have gotten pretty into owning big, nice hardcover books

there’s a Chuck Close one I have my eye on now

  4. angryjoggerz Says:

    tt anyone?

  5. plord Says:

@AJ if your speakers didn’t just announce it, I’m in.

  6. butter Says:

damn, Palmer says dont count the Giants out of the NFC East

sweet Miner, sounds like a lot of work, and you can see the finish line

Mr. C and brother- those parlays are tuff. thats why they pay so well. miracle bets that dont come true. i still remember the one 4 team parlay i hit 20 years ago.

  7. brother Says:

@c, have a friend, nice guy but not real smart, huge white sox fan. never gambled but in 05 he bet $100 on every white sox playoff game that year. they only lost one game……i tried to be scientific , study (hard), and look at every possible angle when i used to wager. had some nice runs but the unthinkable would always eventually happen when i wasn’t thinking clearly and not following my system.

  8. Mike in Austin Says:

Lots of intuition in gambling. I don’t buy that it’s a science at all.

My intuition that St Louis could score in the red zone is pretty bad.

Love to see two touchdowns in this quarter still by giants.

    Book recs I’ve recently read.

Knockemstiff by Donald Ray Pollock- Can’t recommend enough. Best book I’ve read in a long time. better than his most recent The Devil All the Time, which is great too.

Wilson by Daniel Clowes- awesome graphic art, very easy to read, anything by Daniel Clowes is the diggity.

Also in the middle of Robopocalypse by Daniel Wilson. Almost done and I got it yesterday. Enough said.

So hook me up with the next one book lovers. I’ll be jonesin soon.

  10. joe Says:

I want the deluxe home piece version of miner’s book.

No real system in play except posting em in here for karma and stopping if and when I get to 1.5k. Over a 3rd of the way there. Won’t go 5-0 every weekend, that I know.

Book rec: the fool’s progress. Edward Abbey. Haven’t read in 15 years but dug it at the time

  11. joe Says:

My next book should be about eastern philosophy, so I can post about karma correctly.

  12. alf Says:

will miner’s book feature an ice catcher?

  13. DukeOfLizards Says:

    Wow. These are incompetent offenses.

    Duke, your under looks great.

    :shakes fists at MiA:

Zero total points in the fourth quarter for the push, I’m FEELIN’ IT!

  14. brother Says:

@mia…..there is most def a science. several systems out there that the pros have sworn by and have been successful, but it takes discipline and lots of hard work just like everything. i tried. i failed. takes a special skill set that i just don’t have.

  15. brother Says:

keep switchin over to this roast, mike tyson is WASTED.

  16. DavidSilver Says:

    word joe. good luck.

    up 1 in FF.

::prays for bradshaw to leave game::

  17. Mike in Austin Says:

@brother I disagree. Too many crazy things that (IMO) are impossible to model. Vick getting a concushion, weird receptions, etc. The OU was 50 and they were way off last.

Duke, I still like your chances. Giants just need to roll of time running or stopping which isn’t tough.

  18. Mike in Austin Says:

    Roll “off” time.

  19. brother Says:

@mia i hear what your sayin but that was one game. proffessionals don’t put all their chips in one basket. very spread out. and a lot don’t even bet proffessional sports. very complex systems.

  20. brother Says:

a LOT can and does go wrong as far as proffessional gamblers go. but over time they will win more often than lose if they are good.

  21. Mike in Austin Says:

That was watching two sucky teams.

  22. voopa Says:

The Sheen roast was fucking hilarious.

  23. DukeOfLizards Says:

    How bout that.

  24. Mike in Austin Says:

Wish inwould have watched the sheen roast.

    Congrats Duke. We pushed.
