Miner’s Picks: Summer 2011 — Downloads

8.6.11 - The Gorge (Joe Iudice)

For the end of the week, and with the help of Chris Keiner of Phish Listening Room, I have assembled downloads of all the Miner’s Picks that were posted last week. And here’s where Chris comes in. As audience sources of each current show are posted on etree, he reviews the same four songs from each and every source, honing in on—in his opinion—the best available recording for every show played. These installments of Miner’s Picks were assembled from Chris’ selected sources, thus feature the “best” sounding source for every single track! Also, for the first time in Miner’s Picks history, I am offering the compilations in both lossless and mp3 formats.

Below, you will find any link that you will need to download these summer compilations. The torrent links are listed first and are the easiest way to pull entire compilations at once. There are two sets of torrent links—one comprised of FLACs and one comprised of 320 kbps mp3s. Additionally, if torrenting isn’t your thing, there are also direct Megaupload links for the compilations as well. I had to keep each Megaupload file under a 1 gig, so there are multiple download links for the FLAC compilations, though the mp3s files all fit into a single download for each set of picks. Enjoy the summer highlights in any format you choose!

I want to also thank Eric Masters for organizing and re-uploading all the Leg I picks, by far the heartiest compilation of them all. In addition, download links for “Miner’s Picks: Denver” will be provided as soon as they are ready. Enjoy the weekend!

It is quite possible Mitch. The “Suck for Luck” campaign is in full swing. However, if Peyton can come back healthy, there is no reason to draft Luck. Having a high (especially #1) draft pick should be extremely valuable, and would allow the Colts to trade down, pick up a ton of picks, and stock the team right. Clearly a house cleaning is in order and I would be surprised to see Polian or Caldwell be with the team next year.

    Go Cards!

Not really a spin, they clearly suck balls. That said, the problems with this team are deep and Peyton covered a lot of them up with his amazing play. After this season, as long as the Colts post a winning record you have to figure Peyton is the MVP, because he makes this team work. Yesterday’s game was just a debacle.

That said, the linebacking corps seems pretty fair. The defensive backfield is just terrible and injuries are making it worse. Ditto the offensive line. If they can turn a #1 pick into a future first rounder, plus a second and a third, giving them 5 picks in first 3 rounds, they could go a long way to shoring up those problems.

Yo bob d, I agree on terminal 5, not interested there. Let me know what else you have coming. My calendar has tinariwen on sat nov 19 and new Mastersounds on fri nov 18. Oh and Trey on Wednesday.

Is there a bb planned spot for Wednesday? I just made a plan to meet an old friend at Egan and sons (118 walnut st), near the train and near the theatre. Bob d says the town is dry but old friend says this spot has nice scotch selection (scotch scotch scotch, I like scotch).

I always say I’d like to say hi to some other bb folks…maybe then…

  7. Mr palmer Says:

Town isn’t dry. Lots of the eateries are byob, which is nice.

Ae- I’m planning on being there with gcub. Neither one of us has tickets yet, so we’ll be on the lookout.

Um not really, Peyton ain’t getting any younger. Best start making a plan for the future….has been way to hard to trade down in last few drafts also..and with new CBA rookies won’t cost near as much to sign and develop. Will take some of the pressure off to produce right away. Who knows Luck may not be top pick, still early. Luck cost himself a small fortune to play for the Tree one more year.

quick drive by: my source, when I asked if i should box out some time for NYE said “4 days leading up to 12/31”. i didn’t get venue or announcement date but that is the real stuff right there. i know it’s not very helpful but when i can pry for more i will.

  12. guitarpicker420! Says:

@WHB – You are correct that Peyton isn’t getting any younger. However, this team has a franchise quarterback that they just signed for the next 4 or 5 years. IF he is healthy and can come back (which should be known definitively before the draft) then drafting another quarterback doesn’t help this team next year. You are right about the CBA, but this team needs to go all out and try and get another ring while Peyton is still around. That will mean drafting an impact corner, an impact defensive tackle, and a couple good o-linemen. The best way to do that is to stock up on high draft picks. I think that Luck is an unusual draft pick and he will be worth several draft picks to the right team. That is how the Colts can get better and compete next year. Plus, they are likely to get a 4th place team schedule and should be in a position to win a fair number of games. Again, all this is predicated on Peyton’s neck. If Peyton’s neck is still questionable, then you have to draft Luck.

I’m with Bonney, the Colts should go in the tank and take Luck if they can

  19. MrCompletely Says:

colts have deep structural problems that have been covered up by Peyton’s brilliance, to a degree, over last few seasons

  20. MrCompletely Says:

it’s fun to root for detroit in general. city deserves something decent.

  21. guitarpicker420! Says:

I think that the second statement you made is the reason not to draft Luck (given a healthy Peyton). Those problems aren’t going to go away by adding a great backup / future franchise quarterback. However, by having 5 of the top 70, including 3 of the top 35 picks in the draft would go a long way to filling those holes.

  22. MrCompletely Says:

unless you see an announcement of Anon action on something like https://twitter.com/#!/AnonyOps/ I wouldn’t be sure it’s real. There is some disinformation spreading in that regard, it seems. Not sure what the real situation is right now.

  23. guitarpicker420! Says:

And as far as the Colts going in to the tank, I assume you mean throwing the rest of the season. I don’t see them actually trying to lose, but man, they suck so much that even when they try to win, it ain’t happening.

  24. Mr.Miner Says:

im thinking 4 nights at msg gdad. according to you. 😉

  25. MrCompletely Says:

*shrug* I think the simple fact is that the Colts are in a hole and they should start working on the longterm plan ASAP & to me that starts with the QB of the future. as bonney says, it is no longer expensive to carry top picks for a couple years
