i have not seen scratch in 10 years but he was a WOW Hall regular in the 90s

he always went on late and was always wacky but the shows were never anything less than killer.

10 years is a long time tho so YMMV in modern era

  2. joe Says:

does trey play the tune Spin anymore? that one got the nice jazzy jam tacked on to the end usually.

  3. joe Says:

sounds like the scratch shows I saw in the 90’s as well.

  4. albert walker Says:

albert walker was the backup vocalist of culture. word is he kicked some dead heads some seeds he said were his fav strain

cats grew it and it was totally sick. called it the albert walker. a lot of northwest kids grew it in the mid 90’s. we got it goin in Iowa. a bunch of Iowa kids kicking it out. nice herb back in the day.

    albert walker

they played SPin Joe at the Milwaukee TAB show in 2009. the one Silly Willy took the dive at.

  6. MrCompletely Says:

I didn’t realize until a bit ago that the Dr. Walker strain was derived from that one

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1GjcBLx2AvE fwiw

  7. albert walker Says:

I love it says the strain was horded by old school dead heads and no one seems to know where it came from

that story about it being kicked by Albert is probably total hippy BS

  8. MrCompletely Says:

in my experience 99% of drug origin stories are either made up for marketing reasons (a cool story to tell the stoners) or as misdirection/disinformation for the five-o to pick up (“why yes, this chemical was made in Russia”)

    but who knows

    some of its true

i mean the Free Mexican Airforce was real. when I learned that, I decided anything was possible, ’cause Pete Rowan did not seem like a very reliable source

  9. win butler Says:

i grow albert walker. i got it from him last year. canada is loving it! krushington state!

  10. MrCompletely Says:

“I knew Albert Walker. I smoked Albert Walker with Albert Walker. And you, sir, are not puffing Albert Walker.”

  11. bob dylan Says:

i don’t know what this free mexican air force is you speak of.

  12. bob dylan Says:

got any albert walker in a bag man?

well you better let him out before he suffocates!

  13. albert walker Says:

The Al as we called it

Great vocalist in my fav roots vocal group
Great strain name. Maybe best ever imo.

  14. Mr. Palmer Says:

Spinning some Junior D- In Session. Not sure where this one came from. I think Aj or Selector.

  15. Jtran Says:

11/26/97 new source to circulation from the other day sounds great

  16. albert walker Says:

Have you seen the application for crush state win

    They have cheerleaders too
    And a flag
    And jerseys

And to think people think mid 90s kids are bad
    That’s just weird

  17. MrCompletely Says:

Free Mexican Airforce is a Peter Rowan song about airborne dope smugglers

Most people just hear the ridiculous story rowan tells and think that’s it….but they were a real group of pilots and ground workers in the early 70s mostly working out of Austin TX doing thousands of pounds at a time

“High in the hills we are harvesting sweet sensimillia
Yeah, the law wants it all ’cause they know that the wild weed can free ya
And freedom for us is a prison for the rulers of might!
That’s why the Free Mexican Air Force — Mescalito riding his white horse — Yeah, the Free Texican Air Force is flyin’ tonight!”

  18. MrCompletely Says:

song starts at about 2:45 of that video

there’s a great version with Flaco Jimenez too

  19. win butler Says:

there was a flag at VT, think i sent you a pic of it. lets join. maybe they will do arcade tour.

  20. EL Duderino Says:

I’d believe anything PR told me. ‘cuz the sun always rises over the mountains of Kentucky 😉

  21. MrCompletely Says:

“How strange that an innocent herb causes money to burn
They’ll jail you or kill you for making those rich fat cats squirm
They’re the fools who make rules with no difference between wrong or right
That’s why the Free Mexican Air Force is flyin’ tonight”

back in the day, smugglers honestly believed they were heroes, and rebels against oppression

white powders and briefcases of 100s changed everything after the mariel boatlift especially tho

  22. MrCompletely Says:

definitely one of the most crucial herb songs ever recorded

  23. bob dylan Says:

i like the submarines they send full of stuff. thats a pretty neat development. also the islands that have stuff wash up on shore.

  24. albert walker Says:

    Apple shit the bed win

First miss of analyst estimates in 4 years

  25. MrCompletely Says:

the section of florida beach between Ft. Pierce and Sebastian Inlet is right where the currents wash everything up that gets dropped into the waters off the northern bahamas. those routes are pretty shut down now but in the late 80s the predawn “beachcombing” was a super intense exercise. Bales were almost routine, though what you do with a ton of seawaterlogged mexican ditchweed is beyond me. Coke was obviously what people were looking for but was rare. Sketchiest find was some freebase heads I knew who came home one morning with a crate of chinese ak-47 knockoffs packed in grease. not exactly the best thing for a bunch of baseheads to have laying around.

    ahhh florida
