and MGM grand/foxwoods. The largest stand alone casino in the US, I believe. My impression of it is that many of the tribe members (not sure what the “blood amount” is) came out of the woodwork when they were crafting the original casino legislation. Pretty sure there wasn’t an existing reservation on the property of the kind you associate with the plains or southwest.

I think they’ve had economic problems recently when their greedy expansion plans collided with the economic downturn – the same as most non-native casinos in vegas, etc.

Hey guys, driving by after catching up on some intereting DG talk today. I used to be a baller in NW Ohio back in my early twenties, and had a SLF at the time who was a ringer. We used to take $$$, beers, and buds from guys who would actually give us a handicap for me playin’ with a lady.

FWIW, y’all were talking about extensive equipment, and the below link is for the coolest of cool. There are even DVD’s for training your pooch to caddy…

Yo BB, probably the last post of the night. Haven’t caught up in a few days. Just saw some really decent music off of Beale in Memphis. I’ve been spending a lot of time around these parts, and it’s hard to decide which bar is worth my time.

I don’t think there are any Memphis regulars, but if there are some lurkers hit me up at thepigsong at gmail so I don’t waste a bunch of my time like I did earlier this evening trying to find music.

  15. ThePigSong Says:

nice. thanks for the link alf.

Paul Simon just finished up, pretty great show. Really tight band, great arrangements, plenty of classic cuts, but a few new tunes as well. Definitely a worthwhile night out, although I don’t know if I’ll need to see him again any time soon, can’t imagine they vary too much.

I was worried the sheer amount of musicians on stage would muddle things, but they did a great job of instrument switching, and like I said the arrangements were there too, so
