One Month To Go…

7.3.11 - Watkins Glen (Graham Lucas)

I’ll be back tomorrow with a new post and a Hampton/Winston-Salem Box Set giveaway! In the meantime, here is some listening music from this day in Phish history.

Ghost” 11.28.97 II,Worcester, MA

This silky-smooth rendition greeted the post-Thanksgiving crowd in Worcester ’97.

Tweezer” 11.28.98 II, Worcester, MA

A relatively straightforward version from the least significant show of Worcester’s three-night, tour-closing stand in ’98.

Seven Below > Ghost” 11.28.09, Albany, NY

When this sequence dropped two years ago tonight, it was nothing short of a revelation for a jam-deprived fan base of Fall ’09.

It’s great to see. Not dissing it. Just being a whiner that I’d rather have ph tour. Don’t wanna do symphony tour.

  2. Mr. Palmer Says:

Personally, i’m not all that interested in it myself…just saying.

“letโ€™s just pick up where Gorge, UIC, and DIckโ€™s left off and he can cheeze away with his side projects” – poop

^^ exactly! And considering that these are pretty much the last three runs the band played, i don’t think you need to worry all that much.

    Tahoe Light.

  4. Mr. Palmer Says:

    I wasn’t going to Hampton anyway…

Let’s keep hope alive for a spring tour. I miss spring tours. March- April. Great time of year.

  5. Mr.Miner Says:

    hampton was never happening ๐Ÿ˜‰

  6. Mr.Miner Says:

i’m into the symphony thing. Phish just crushed. Page is having a baby. Everything will be alright. The symphonic Trey stuff is actually quite amazing imo. Kills TAB and MGB by a long shot.

  7. poop goblin Says:

Hampton is such a beautiful city. Thinking bout retiring there.

  8. Mr.Miner Says:

    right on coliseum drive ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. poop goblin Says:

    haven’t heard it yet

like I said pop/rock and symphonies don’t usually mesh with me

could see some of the prog pieces working nicely

    should spin some

  10. poop goblin Says:

I need a 4 night MSG phish run right about now

starting to lose it a bit
    not sure what I’m losing
    but it is def unraveling

  11. tela'smuff Says:

seems Vegas shows in May will be the next ones? maybe and April>May tour? give me that Vegas>Denver run please.

  12. Mr. Palmer Says:

Shit, they play Denver more they New york now…settle down out there kids. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  13. jonacho Says:

Personally I think Trey playing with an orchestra sounds like an incredible musical experience.
    I’m all in.

  14. Mr. Palmer Says:

Tela’s – have i told you how much i like Direction in Music yet? ๐Ÿ™‚

I may have to spin that again actually. Broke a phish fast with the “S” show. My favorite of the Dicks run.

  15. poop goblin Says:

I’m out of phish. wore out all the hot stuff from fall. spun it all to death. been about 3 weeks since I spun any.

reggae only binge. bass shaking the walls for about a month now

    my girl must be stoked

  16. BingosBrother Says:

I’m all for Trey doing whatever he wants to scratch his creative itch, but I still can’t help thinking how awesome Phish would be if he put as much practice time and effort into them as he does into his new play and symphony. Just sayin.

  17. tela'smuff Says:

ha. that’s awesome P. it deserves the praise.

i need to respin the S show. only listened to it once all the way through since the actual show.

  18. Mr. Palmer Says:

I was all reggae during my fast mostly also. The Arkology and The Lost Treasures of the Ark being my main listening devices. I’m a converted scratchaholic i think.

  19. Mr. Palmer Says:

which can all be found in Tela’s orangeness

  20. Mulitbeast Says:

“Direction in Music”? Is this a new Telas playlist or new band or….?

  21. poop goblin Says:

be careful of that lost treasures of the ark

many aren’t even ark era and several aren’t final mixes

def some fire on there but some weird shit thrown together too

    arkology is straight $$$$$$

  22. SillyWilly Says:

    i’m not a scratchaholic

i can stop whenever i want.

    i just don’t want to.

    plus, i’m not hurting anyone.

i swear to god. you’ll see.

  23. Mr. Palmer Says:

Interesting poop. i’m learning on the fly when it comes to that genre so appreciate the tidbits of info.

  24. halcyon Says:

    Police State?

  25. poop goblin Says:

No big deal P. there are some killer tracks on it. When scratch got real famous in the late 90โ€™s there was a bit of letโ€™s grab anything he worked on and get out on CD going on. Since his work can be hit or miss to begin with just creates some uneven listening and some of those comps.
