Shipping Balls!

Book Cover (Masthay)

Ever since the books were delivered around noon yesterday, I’ve been shipping my face off and haven’t been able to accomplish anything else. I’ve been workin’ round the clock to get all holiday orders out the door by tomorrow. The only exceptions to these will be international orders—I will have to deal with those separately; I apologize for the delay. Anyhow, look for the book in the mail soon! I’ll see you on the other side!

UPDATE: Any domestic orders placed by the 12/5 holiday deadline have been shipped as of 12/17. The rest of the books will begin shipping Monday. I will be in touch with international orders individually regarding postage. Thanks for your support! Can’t wait ’til you get em! MSG is lurking in the shadows…

MONDAY UPDATE: Any domestic orders places through December 13th have processed and will be shipped out today. The remainder of the domestic orders should be out the door tomorrow, and at the latest, Wednesday. I’ve been too busy packing to type thoughts, but I’m getting excited at this point…9 days…

I have that double CD reissue. it’s interesting and cool. it’s not just the solos, there are other differences as well, I remember Stop That Train in particular being interesting to contrast

  2. jtran Says:

    The book has arrived

  3. 12/16/99 SAND Says:

Man I remember this show like it was yesterday. Cool misty rain outside. A very small lot scene. We sat on the front right directly behind Fish and Trey.

I am pretty sure a lot of us in Reynolds Coliseum lost our shit during this Sand.

  4. Mr. Palmer Says:

Crazy year in football, thats for sure.

Please don’t let Rex Ryan and the Jets win this week. We will have to listen to that blowhard forever if they do. Can’t he just shut up? His defense got torched again. Santonio Holmes celebrating a TD down 28-10 after fumbling and then dropping a pass that led to a pick is the epitome of stupidity!

  5. Mr. Palmer Says:

    Miner’s book @ Jtran? Nice.

  6. albert walker Says:

    Very true J

Although ranglin is all over the studio one stuff its more the laid back tasty jazz style

    Not the blues rock stuff

Funny a Chicago blues guy was in the touring band for a while
Kinsey was his name I believe

  7. Selector J Says:

Yea, it’s those little garnishes of blues guitar or organ between lines that just don’t exist in reggae otherwise.

Like if you listen to the 2 Concrete Jungle samples on that Amazon page I linked to, the official release has a little bluesy guitar run right after the backup singers do the “No sun will shine.” Totally absent on the JA version.

You’d be hard pressed to find something like that on anything coming out of Channel One, Joe Gibbs, Studio One, etc. etc.

Purely US/UK pop move. It worked, though.

  8. albert walker Says:

    I hate that sound man

The first couple aren’t terrible but you know how I feel

It’s same reason I don’t dig that era Floyd

Way to busy from an arrangement side and too clean like a fuckin eagles record

No groove. All hooks and back up chicks and over dubs

Read Polanski’s bio and tell me you’re gonna judge him on one sexual encounter.

  11. MrCompletely Says:

anal rape of a child isn’t a ‘sexual encounter’ dude

but I’m not gonna get started on that worthless piece of shit, I don’t care how sad his backstory is

I hear what you’re saying about the glossy 70s sound @aw and in many cases I agree

but there are a handful of mid-70s Steely Dan tracks that are the epitome of that sound which I absolutely love and always will…and other stuff too but the Dan kind of represents the ultimate endpoint of that sound…on some of their songs it strikes me as cheesy and lame and on others it’s just absolutely perfect…

e.g. Babylon Sisters is just an amazing track…Black Cow…Home At Last…etc, etc

  12. MrCompletely Says:

“Well I should know by now
    That it’s just a spasm
    Like a Sunday in T.J.
That it’s cheap but it’s not free
That I’m not what I used to be
And that love’s not a game for three

    Babylon sisters shake it
    Babylon sisters shake it
    So fine so young
Tell me I’m the only one

My friends say no don’t go
    For that cotton candy
    Son you’re playing with fire
The kid will live and learn
As he watches his bridges burn
From the point of no return….”

    words to the wise, eh?

  13. Mulitbeast Says:

I’m a fan of the Dan.

  14. DaNcInG fOoL Says:

Watched his dad get captured by Nazis. His mother murdered in Auschwitz. Escaped the ghetto and survived on his own but nearly beaten to death.
Wife brutally murdered while 8 months pregnant with first child.
    Knife on the Water
    Rosemary’s Baby
    Sex with 13 year old
    The Pianist

  15. MrCompletely Says:

    anal rape of a child

    your argument is invalid

  16. MrCompletely Says:

plenty of people have tragic backstories and don’t drug and anally rape young girls

  17. Mr.Miner Says:

@jtran…. And what do you think?

  18. MrCompletely Says:

seems like your point is kind of insulting to every child of holocaust survivors who didn’t get into drugging and raping children, but what do I know?

  19. MrCompletely Says:

hahahahaha you got me into it

carry on with the excuse making, no worries!

  20. MrCompletely Says:

I’m guessing he’s so stunned by its beauty that he’s speechless, Miner

  21. Mr.Miner Says:

Not sure what type of convo I hopped into here, but did anyone else get the book today?

  22. willowed Says:

I’m at work Miner. I am hoping mine is sitting at home waiting for me.

I can’t wait to dig in. I know it’s going to be great!

  23. bob dylan Says:

  24. albert walker Says:

    No doubt

    Hear ya on the Dan.

The holy shit look how shiny we can produce era is generally weird though

I’ve been known to rock some queen too. The cheeziest

  25. albert walker Says:
