Holiday Jams

"The Ball" (!?)

A couple of classic holiday run jams to ease back into the musical spirit. Christmas is less than a week away which means Phish is just around the corner! Excitement is in the air… get ready…set…

Hidden Track

As I’ve been busy shipping book and not updating the site, a couple different interviews I did have posted to the web. First, I took part in Hidden Track’s Writer’s Workshop— a broad and in depth interview with Ryan Dembinsky about my blog, writing philosophy, my book and Phish.

Additionally, I did a Q & A with Charlie Dirksen of that was specifically focused on Phish Thoughts—The Book. (With a brief aside about Trey’s “Taste” tease in 7.17.’98’s “Weekapaug” jam.) Check ’em out!

BOOK SHIPPING UPDATE: All domestic orders have processed and will be shipped as of today! I am going to begin figuring out the international ones—hang tight! You can be sure now, if you order a book now, that it will ship the same day or the following day at the latest. Thanks for your support and I, sincerely, hope everyone who ordered a book enjoys it during the holiday season and beyond!

Confirmed day off for thursday. Crisis averted. MSG here I come

  5. Mike in Austin Says:

Bob (and BB) I’m still looking for a single 30th. I have full faith in this landing in my lap. And gonna enjoy helping others with my 29ths.

Dr. P is the man, and helped me out!

  6. plord Says:

Merry Christmas BB. Santa Claus brought some *serious* gift of music to the house: WS box, Miles in Europe, Seun Kuti, Trombone Shorty, Leo Kottke, Goat Rodeo Sessions, Queen remasters, and Roy Buchanan’s first album. and a check from grandma that will cover the webcast for MSG 🙂

On the downside I tried to get myself a super cheap Korean hollowbody jazz guitar from Rondo and it arrived with a snapped neck. No smooth, woody ii-V-Is for me today I guess 🙁

Kids are chocolate-amped, dogs have completely destroyed all of their new toys, waiting on the next pot of coffee and settling down for a heavy breakfast.

Hope today finds you all warm and healthy and surrounded by family and friends.

  7. Mike in Austin Says:

Hope everyone has a great day today.

Phish is gonna play like Jerome Simpson jumps. Effortlessly.

  8. plord Says:

Ok that is a sick finish on the Simpson catch. You see him push off the defenders shoulder and cath his hand on the helmet on the way around? I’m not positive that was planned; more of a “necessity is the mother of rotation” kind of thing. Either way: sick.

    Happy Baby Jesus Day

Written across the wall of the cave were the following symbols: A Woman, A Donkey, A Shovel, A Fish, and The Star of David
It was considered a unique find and the writings were said to be at least 3000 years old!
The piece of stone was removed, brought to the museum, and archaeologists from around the world came to study the ancient symbols.
They held a huge meeting after months of conferences to discuss the meaning of the markings.
The President of the society, who also happened to be a Greens senator, pointed to first drawing and said:
“This is a woman. We can see these people held women in high esteem.
You can also tell they were intelligent, as the next symbol is a donkey, so they were smart enough to have animals help them till the soil.
The next drawing is a shovel, which means they had tools to help them.”
Even further proof of their high intelligence is the fish which means that if a famine hit the earth and food didn’t grow, they seek food from the sea.
The last symbol appears to be the Star of David which means they were evidently Hebrews. “
    The audience applauded enthusiastically.
Then a little old Jewish man stood up in the back of the room and said,
“Idiots…Hebrew is read from right to left… It says: ‘Holy Mackerel, Dig the Ass on that Chick”
