"The Ball" (!?)

A couple of classic holiday run jams to ease back into the musical spirit. Christmas is less than a week away which means Phish is just around the corner! Excitement is in the air… get ready…set…

Hidden Track

As I’ve been busy shipping book and not updating the site, a couple different interviews I did have posted to the web. First, I took part in Hidden Track’s Writer’s Workshop— a broad and in depth interview with Ryan Dembinsky about my blog, writing philosophy, my book and Phish.

Additionally, I did a Q & A with Charlie Dirksen of that was specifically focused on Phish Thoughts—The Book. (With a brief aside about Trey’s “Taste” tease in 7.17.’98’s “Weekapaug” jam.) Check ’em out!

BOOK SHIPPING UPDATE: All domestic orders have processed and will be shipped as of today! I am going to begin figuring out the international ones—hang tight! You can be sure now, if you order a book now, that it will ship the same day or the following day at the latest. Thanks for your support and I, sincerely, hope everyone who ordered a book enjoys it during the holiday season and beyond!

listened to toyota park Ghost->LxL in the car today. the latter half of that ghost jam has some serious Trey shreddelry that holds up. the whole jam is interesting, but trey fucking destorys it in a massive guitar peak right before the close it up. hot hot fire. $x10. then it gives way to a wildly interesting limb. inside the box, but a upper echelon limb for sure.

then again, what do i know. im just a 3.0 kid who thought merriweather1 was a better complete than most shows on leg I. (minus DTE, Bethel II, Blossom and Portsmand, I mean Portsmouth)

  3. SillyWilly Says:

i really liked that show, DryIce

sort of a forgotten about show from 2010

  4. SillyWilly Says:

i’m talking about the Toyota Park show

  5. DryIceFactory Says:

For shits and giggles and without further adeiu.

My Top 10 of Summer ’11:
    1. Bethel2
    2. DTE
    3. Blossom
    4. Portsmouth
    5. Merriweather1
    6. Bethel1
    7. Charlotte
    8. Darien
    9. Riverbend
    10. PNC1

  6. DryIceFactory Says:

Yea that Toyota Park show was hot as f*ck. Absolute RAGER of a first set. Plus, my buddy saw a kid literally collapse (he came to shortly after) during Maze cause the kid was feeling it so hard. Supposedly live, that Maze was an absolute rager. Hot Light, Ghost->Limb, and a strong stockalope.

No Gorge? No UIC? No SBIX? No Dick’s?

You best be listing top ten you hit, cause otherwise your opinion is wrong!

  8. DryIceFactory Says:

Minus any MAJOR flubs, any first set that includes a Disease, a Reba and a Bowie is going to smoke. As Superball 3 once put it, Time Loves a Reba and a Bowie.

  9. DryIceFactory Says:

Leg I only, read above. Sorry for confusion.

  10. DryIceFactory Says:

oh wait a minute, I didnt say Leg I, I meant to. OOps.

  11. DryIceFactory Says:

UIC1 was my favorite show of the summer. By far.

  12. DaNcInG fOoL Says:

    Sbix was leg 1

  13. DryIceFactory Says:

Leg II, SBIX and Denver Top 10

    1. UIC1
    2. Dicks2
    3. Dicks3
    4. SBIX3
    5. Gorge1
    6. SBIX2 (Includes Storage Jam)
    7. UIC2
    8. Dicks1
    9. Gorge2
    10. Tahoe1

  14. garretc Says:

Haha, yeah DIF, I kinda figured it had to be Leg 1, you seem like a generally reasonable individual!

  15. Mr. Palmer Says:

    It’s on hombres!

  16. DryIceFactory Says:

Yea I guess I should have included SBIX leg I cause techically it was part of the east coast leg. But there were more shows on leg I so I decided the split was more even. I dont know what drew this rant out of me, I guess the new binger my brother in-law gave me for christmas is pretty savage.

  17. DryIceFactory Says:

    hah thanks @gc

  18. DryIceFactory Says:

Miner’s Top 10 of ’11 is prob coming out soon. Me thinks he should split it out into 2 seperate lists. Just too much meat for one platter, ya know what I mean?

  19. IrieWalton (Beantown) Says:

Nice list @ dry ice. But hopefully you’ll need to clear out some room on there after the next few days.

  20. DryIceFactory Says:

Yea IW, I’m pretty certain I will be. Shit is gonna get freaky in the round room. My expectations are set pretty high.

  21. garretc Says:

Weren’t feeling the StumptownBoy screen name?

  22. DryIceFactory Says:

I just hope I’m not sitting at home on Wednesday night, watching some webcast, crushing some Long Trails, clearing some tubes and saying stuff like… “wtf are they doing right now?”

  23. garretc Says:

Actually DIF, there’s no reason to avoid saying that it all just depends on the context:

30 song show? “WTF are they doing right now?”

30 minute Tweezer? “WTF are they doing right now?”

    See? Multipurpose!

  24. DryIceFactory Says:

On second though, I’m not sure I want to see them getting the fuck down and realize I’m sitting on my couch. I guess it would make sense if they are crushing it to get excited, you have to imagine it would mean they only want to one up it the following night.

  25. BrandonKayda Says:

    I hope they don’t do a 30 song show :/

I still don’t know how I feel about Phish streaming shows…
