Five More From Summer ’95

Great Woods 7-1-95

Let’ start the week off with another dip into the primordial psychedelia of Summer ’95—the band’s most experimental tour ever.

Mike’s Song” 6.20 II, Cuyahoga Falls, OH

This menacing version descended upon Blossom, leaving many wide-eyed fans wondering what had just happened.

David Bowie” 6.15 II, Atlanta, GA

Another one of Summer ’95’s top-shelf “Bowies.”

Tweezer > Gumbo” 6.28 II, Wantagh, NY

Another multi-faceted and experimental monster, featuring “Dave’s Energy Guide” and a jam on The Breeder’s “Cannonball,” from the first night at Jones Beach.

Runaway Jim ->  Makisupa” 7.2 II, Sugarbush, VT

A hard-edged and grinding jam eventually melts into “Makisupa” on the first night of Sugarbush’s summer-ending precursor to The Clifford Ball.

Split Open and Melt” 7.1 II, Mansfield, MA

A first set joyride into seething musical realms.

If you could only do SPAC or AC what would you do?

I assume most people would say AC….

  2. albert walker Says:

AC for me GA is the first most important consideration besides maybe having it be a 3-4 night run

  3. willowed Says:

    AC for sure

    GA field
    Speaker Stacks
    Mad room
    Stars in the sky
Mikes bass bombs traveling thru the open air

  4. Guyute711 Says:

AC or bust, seems like the only reasonable trip for me at this point until they drop my super secret southern dates.

  5. willowed Says:

Tweezers and Ghosts always sound better on open air fields

  7. bearito Says:

    Tough to say lumpy

I’m sold on AC with the GA Field

  8. willowed Says:

    That was funny AW

  9. snowbank Says:

    I’m thinking
    1) Waiting for the WC
    2) Atlantic City
    3) DC>AV
    4) JB>SPAC

  10. lumpyhead Says:

the kicker for me is GA…

  11. garretc Says:

“Nothing for me until west coast. Not enough cash flow to support a cross country flying Phish habit. Feels kinda empty.”

Welcome to the club, Jtran… One of the few downsides to the left coast!

I’d say I’m about where snowbank is at, although flip 3 and 4 for me.

  12. Phamily Berzerker Says:

BB provides when it comes to tickets.

  13. TreasureReprise Says:

AW, we will cross paths again on terr at some point! A PDX show would be the bees knees. I haven’t slept in my own bed after a show since Portland Meadows ’99. Even then it was a two hour drive back to Olympia.

  14. albert walker Says:

leg 2 will be packed with west coast dates

I plan on taking a whole week off work so it better be.

need to see all my peeps.

  15. Jtran Says:

did just start looking into San Diego > Philly for AC though, hoping for the Gdad airport pick up 😉

Probably not a reality though since I have to fly home first weekend in June for a wedding.

$1000 in flights in two weeks? Not so much

  16. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

Whose got my worcester floor tix??

  17. bhizzle Says:

am i viewing the spac calender correctly cuz that shit is telling me july 6 -8 is opera, Rigaletto or some shit. Now if that’s true how is Phish playing there at the same time or is that their alias?

I’m thinking Star Lake, Blossom, SPAC & AC are in the running, prolly not all but….most…

  18. phoammhead Says:

any chance trey doesn’t want dates released today because he has symphony show tonight

  19. gavinsdad Says:

    AC for me leg 1.

calling in a hold for AUG with the wife for a single city road trip in hopes that a nice 2 or 3 pack out west happens.

  20. garretc Says:

That’s apparently in some small theater type thing associated with SPAC, not the amphitheatre itself

  21. TreasureReprise Says:

Chula Vista > Shoreline > PDX > Gorge or the other way around would make me very very happy. Wouldn’t mind a return to Ventura or Hollywood again. The Eugene rumors of a Matt Court show are tasty as well.

  22. TreasureReprise Says:

Come out west GD, especially if there’s a PDX show.

  23. snowbank Says:

JB>SPAC isn’t quite as nice as I thought. I thought the holiday would increase the shows/vacation days ratio… but I would to prolly take 5 vaca days. so it’s at one. But… neither of the venues get me excited.

Hence bader field is a strong contender… prolly get away with 2 vacation days for three shows…

  24. bearito Says:

Let’s hope they swing south on their way to the left coast @ G7

    Dear Red Light,

I’m dying for a 2/3 pack in Nola.

The newly renovated UNO LAkefront Arena would be perfect
or perhaps the NO Arena where the Hornets play.

  25. Multibeast Says:

Alpine run for this guy, ‘hometown’ show and have never missed one at the AV. Than I will be west coasting it.
