  1. Mr.Miner Says:

As soon as dates drop, whether now or in 3 weeks, all phish fans will be happy and forget all about this. Oh, did I mention that it’s February? /takes Capshaw mask off.

  2. Mr.Miner Says:

    Bottom page’d…

Guess its just a matter of how importantly you view yourself…

  3. garretc Says:

“The band got back together in a sustainable way for us, and now people complain its not the right way.”

Come on Miner, it’s not like announcing all of summer tour at once is gonna make the band fall apart. It just doesn’t seem like asking a whole lot when I’m already getting concert promotion emails with dates in late August for other touring acts.

That bit has little to do with sustainable or unsustainable, from where I’m sitting at least

  4. Robear Says:

I’ll bet a copy of Miners book that the band and organization are not that happy with RLM. My proof will be when they don’t renew the contract. No dates between UIC and Dicks was a logistic and planning mistake.

    Vegas was on, now off.

    Today is the annual:

“If you have a job and tight budget, RLM style stinks If you have tons of funds and free time,it’s just fine. “

  5. Mr.Miner Says:

@hhood. My comments are by no means directed at you. Just in general. But to answer your question, no I do not think good management involves caring for the fan base.

  6. HarryHood Says:

Sorry, my last post implied that the fans aren’t happy. I’m a happy fan. Id just be a lot happiER if I could get a Blu-Ray of a live show and be able to plan my summer with Phish as a priority. Maybe that’s just my problem though.

  7. Mr.Miner Says:

    I’ll take that bet rob

  8. tela'smuff Says:

and really, it’s March in 3 days. so it’s March in my books. which means if they announce Legg II in 3 weeks, it’s almost April, and that’s baseball season, and that’s almost summer!! ha.

my Grandma always told me i was special, so Miner, I view myself as pretty f’in special.

  9. Gratefulcub Says:

Are we 100% certain that the tour is completely nailed down?

Don’t the venues make sure Beiber, Madonna, and Gaga types don’t want the dates before they give it bands that only bring in $50 a ticket instead of $250?

Just curious. Is it not possible that all the i’s aren’t crossed and t’s aren’t dotted in mid February?

  10. snowbank Says:

I only care in so far as the band needs to cater to the phans to keep playing. If they stop playing because they can’t sell out shows cause they don’t announce dates until march, then I will be pissed.

  11. Guyute711 Says:

Pfft, customer service, your living in the past my friend.

  12. Mr.Miner Says:

The cancellation of dates like Vegas and bethel was due to Capshaw and trey planning tour without consulting other band members. Communication breakdown. Thus Vegas and memorial day bethel were cancelled.

  13. jonacho Says:

I would absolutely say that good management means caring for the fan base.
    Customer service.

  14. Mr. Palmer Says:

Wow..just heard Spread it Round for the first time. I don’t plan on doing that again anytime soon. Jenny DAnces>Spread it Round

  15. Mr.Miner Says:

    Anyhow…who’s got my dates?

  16. Gratefulcub Says:

It gets better the more you hear it Palmer. Trust me. Check back in after 15 or 20.

  17. HarryHood Says:

    @ Miner

Same here, I’m not just trying to start a debate with you. I work in the customer service department for my company, so I’m biased. We have built a successful company on making changes based on customer wants/needs. No one can argue that Phish spent the better part of their career doing the same. All companies seem to get to that tipping point though where they get an ego and beating their numbers from last year become more important that the people who gave them “numbers” in the first place. Usually that comes in the form of new management or a buyout. I suspect that you would be a successful manager because you understand that good management doesn’t mean doing what the customer wants. I guess that’s why I’ll never be a white collar worker because it sincerely pisses me off when companies forget who got them to where they are……..

  18. tela'smuff Says:

    hilarious Guyute!

Miner – u seem to know, gives us the Leg II lowdown.

  19. stapes Says:

“If you have a job and tight budget, RLM style stinks If you have tons of funds and free time,it’s just fine. “

^^^Exactly. So for all the non-trustfund working stiffs it’s a lot better the more notice we get.

  20. Phamily Berzerker Says:

Cutie(TM) Oranges are likely the porest excuse for an edible orange.

Seriously, peelability does not equal edibility!

  21. Robear Says:

Miner, which bet? The dates being 50% wrong, or Phish switching mgmt when the contract is up?

  22. Mr.Miner Says:

    @rob both.

  23. DukeOfLizards Says:

Bethel fell through and it’s not Trey’s fault?

    Fuck the other band members!

  24. Mr.Miner Says:

I do not think phish spent their career changing based on fans need. If fans buy tickets and band is happy, management has done their job.

  25. garretc Says:

    @Duke

But surprise surprise, Trey wasn’t listening to or communicating with the other band members…

Remind me, where have I heard that story before?

    Haha
