Five More From Summer ’95

Great Woods 7-1-95

Let’ start the week off with another dip into the primordial psychedelia of Summer ’95โ€”the band’s most experimental tour ever.

Mike’s Song” 6.20 II, Cuyahoga Falls, OH

This menacing version descended upon Blossom, leaving many wide-eyed fans wondering what had just happened.

Tweezer > Gumbo” 6.28 II, Wantagh, NY

Another multi-faceted and experimental monster, featuring “Dave’s Energy Guide” and a jam on The Breeder’s “Cannonball,” from the first night at Jones Beach.

A hard-edged and grinding jam eventually melts into “Makisupa” on the first night of Sugarbush’s summer-ending precursor to The Clifford Ball.

I like to bitch about Trey so I get bitchin

but bitchin about lack of June dates pre March is even getting ahead of ourselves for our obsessed asses.

    have fun kids
I’ll be back when we finally get the dates.

  2. tela'smuff Says:

  3. Phamily Berzerker Says:

Poop is totally lying. He’ll be back sooner.

  4. Gratefulcub Says:

garret, what’s with the Dortmund love?

  5. Robear Says:

Snow, the world is a bit phucked. If a person is not a bit depressed, they’re not paying attention.

More evidence of mental health stigmatized in this country ๐Ÿ™

  7. HarryHood Says:

“If fans buy tickets and band is happy, management has done their job”

^ Can’t argue that point at all. You are 100% correct. But it’s that same mentality that causes me to have to deal with angry customers on the phone all day and even though I agree with them, I can’t do anything about it because management has their heads up their keesters. If I had direct access to the powers that be, I could provide solutions that would make the customer happy and make more money. Middle management however, knows better than I do without actually talking to the customers. It’s awesome how they have the ability to do that………..

  8. ColonelJoy Says:

    @All:

    Few thoughts on this debate.

-generally agree with Miner on RLM, though putting out that there was miscomunication that led to Bethel/Vegas cancelations indicates there is a management issue to some extent.

-there are not nearly as many “rabid” fans as there once were, not that we love the band less, we just put the lust in perspective, balancing it out with “adult” priorities….

  9. Robear Says:

Okay Miner, first bet is easy, dates coming this week. hope there’s a new shirt design I like!

Second bet, we will have to store away. I have the book, and so do you. Loser sends copy to someone that doesn’t have it.

  10. tela'smuff Says:

ultimately, it comes down to we’re expecting a baby late Sept so I got shit to work out. i think i can sell the “last hoorah” argument one more time. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  11. HarryHood Says:

“Second bet, we will have to store away. I have the book, and so do you. Loser sends copy to someone that doesnโ€™t have it”

    ^ That’s a great bet!

  12. Robear Says:

No doubt Joy! Miner says, “No prob with RLM”. Then goes onto say “Vegas, Bethel cancelled due to Trey and Capshaw”. Doesn’t RLM = Capshaw?

    That miner is confusing.

  13. Selector J Says:

@Miner – Thanks for more of these ’95 scorchers. Beastly 95 Bowies never get old.

  14. bearito Says:

@ ae – Sorry for your loss. I hope he found peace on the other side.

I guess I’m getting used to RL toying with the fanbase. Something the band taught them perhaps? At least the Festival 8 gimmick was entertaining while making us salivate. Since then it’s just been an overwhelming amount of refreshing phish.com.

Sure would be nice to know both legs for planning purposes as I am also trying to plan a trip to Kauai in August.

Really hope Memphis happens on that Monday after the Roo. Mondays are my Saturdays and I could really use some decent BBQ.

  15. Phamily Berzerker Says:

    @AE Just read back.

DAMN! That is tough. My condolences to the family in this troubled time.

I have come to believe that human soul is inherently troubled as the connection to the divine is fragmented at best. Everyone has their own set of challenges.

Phish is a great way to bridge this for me. I see other people with their coping skills helping them plod along in the show of life. I hope whatever they got working that gets them by works.

  23. Phamily Berzerker Says:

besides fans of the band who else buys tickets?

Is there some justice court out there tha forces white collar criminals to buy phish tickets and attend shows?

or are some catstrophically ironic 1%ers buying phish tickets, nay, coporate boxes at phish shows and gifting them as whiet elephant gifts?

    phishthoughts?

  24. ColonelJoy Says:

    @Hood,

I’ve been getting some things in order….and working too much

  25. Gratefulcub Says:

    Hey Hood, work and babies.

The little one looks good, but I can only see a half inch sqare.
