MiA is, I think, right about the CME dealing with oil futures, though in large part, since its a globally traded commodity, there is less they can do then with something like pork bellies. However, I believe the Saudis are committed to keeping oil around $100. They know if it goes too high, that it will crash, like in 2008. There is probably a $10-$15 risk premium built in right now vis-a-vis Iran, and that isn’t going anywhere any time soon. Though, clearly, the risk to the straits of Hormuz are vastly overblown. The Iranian navy scares noone, particularly when there are 2 carrier groups in the area. I expect oil to trade in a range between $90 and $115 for the forseeable future.

bearded one wants to inflate assets at all costs and he will. that is totally fucked.

should a central banker really be shouting?

“buy fucking stocks, rates aren’t going anywhere!”

    well he is

  3. guitarpicker420! Says:

At the same time, aw, the money is chasing yields. With T-bills giving you less than 2%, europe scaring the crap out of reasonable people, commodities already sky high, where else are you going to put the money?>

  4. guitarpicker420! Says:

Party time, out folks. Phreak Before the Creek, June 27th. My place. All BB folks welcome.

I probably looked like I missed a DMB concert by a week. I don’t know. Everytime I laughed at a T-shirt, I bought it. It was like buying lot art.

I mean, the first Sega/Reba shirt I saw I thought was so funny I just wanted everyone to see his work. Same with my crusty old YEM/IBM shirt. I loved Corporate Logos being co-opted by fans making shirts.

After a while in ’98, I became convinced that Trey recognized us, so I would practically wear the same thing every day so he would know it was me.

I think the lot drugs were taking hold by then.

  6. snowbank Says:

but that all begs the question – what does it mean to try to dress cool? As in, try to look like Brad Pitt or Jay-Z or a Bellingham Hipster?
Is AW trying to dress cool with whatever the shoes are the he loves?
Is it cool to just be comfortable?

  7. albert walker Says:

    that’s what I mean

30 year doesn’t pay shit. europe is in shambles. no one can trust Chinese data and they have some bubble issues in shadow banking and housing. also the producer to consumer stage can be bumpy.

so ya buy fuckin IBM and MSFT

I get why it’s working and I’m long. I just think we will reach highs of 2012 sometime in 1H similar to last year

peeps will get their face ripped off in the bond market some day very soon

I would love to get a hot inflation number and see if the fed can keep control of the long end through their buying

been building a position in that short 30 year ETF just for fun. can’t go much lower. of course Japan did but still hoping we aren’t Japan.

  10. albert walker Says:

I am cool Snow first of all so I set the trends

  11. Mike in Austin Says:

I think you’re right AW. I mean if bonds are returning 1%, then anyone paying me 4% is worth more to me. Esp if they can maintain dividends at that P/E ratio. Chasing equities. Everyone’s company that makes money and pays a higher rate than bonds, is worth more than when it didn’t.

Apple’s gonna drop a huge dividend in 2012 me thinks. Get in on that 15% dividend tax before it goes away.

  12. mosesmauzy Says:

    a phish question?
do you think they will do a summer leg 2 this year?
also on the full tour dates page i noticed that it lists the city, state, and country.
has this been the case in tours past or do we expect to see phish outside of the US sometime soon?
or could that have been b/c of gordon’s tour?

  13. albert walker Says:

with all the fat cash balance sheets too MIA some feel they are going to keep raising those divs to keep peeps coming in in 2012. way better than buybacks in this enviornment.

still can’t believe that MSFT move

peeps been calling that stock out as cheap for years

  14. Mike in Austin Says:

In the end though, they’re still MSFT.

  15. albert walker Says:

    I’m out kids

ya MIA we missed the worst of 2011 rallying in Jan trade
and the big old tech dividend trade in Jan
and the homebuilders move off the bottom

so I’ve basically whiffed on the top trades of the year so far. just chlling and hoping something opens here right now.

  20. El Duderino Says:

Chelsea Inn and Pub – :Check:

  21. Guyute711 Says:

OK, I used to like Galactic, what is that shit on the new album?

  22. snowbank Says:

I guess it comes back to the key for me was realizing that there were going to be some people that liked me and some people that didn’t so I should just be who I wanted and the rest would sort itself out.

And I do aspire to not judge people by what they wear but I find it very difficult to not instantly form an opinion of people on some level based on their appearance. It’s really a matter of our ability to let talking to the person change that opinion… for better or worse!

  23. El Duderino Says:

NTM has a room booked @ the Chelsea Inn and Pub now too! :Check:

  24. sumodie Says:

wow, seems there’s a BB invasion of the Chelsea Pub & Inn
