Are there recordings of Levon’s Rambles out on the interwebs? If so can someone point me in the right direction

Loved hitting up the GD at the Movies last night. I hope they continue that, hopefully next time with a show that doesn’t feature Bobby Britches so prominently. How did no one ever stand up and put a stop to that? Damn…

That Piper was my wife’s 1st show and only until Hampton. Had some awesome personal moments in that show. That long, slow intro to start the set, sprinting across the lawn with the guy who would preside over our wedding ceremony 4 years later as the song built and them Slamming into our group and popping off like firecrackers on arrival. They though we were gone forever, we thought we’d never find them. All came together in perfect time and that Mist was the perfect landing when Piper finally dissipated. Future Wife & I had an early special moment in the Velvet encore.

Check the Wolfman’s from this show!

^7.23.03 Tweezer is hot too. Not a highly regarded show overall tho

Just got this e-mail from my friend.

Levon Helm has been removed from the banned list at dimeadozen:
    RIP Levon Helm
Posted by: “erwe, DIME Admin” btadm@dimeadozen.org dimeadozenorg
Date: Thu Apr 19, 2012 5:48 pm ((PDT))

“Levon Helm, who helped forge a deep-rooted American music as the
drummer and singer for the Band, died on Thursday in Manhattan. He was
71 and lived in Woodstock, N.Y.”
    — New York Times

DIME goes down on its knees before Levon and removes him from the NAB
list in which he was introduced *not by his request*!

    RIP Levon Helm

    Take care!

    erwe

PS: The NAV list entry for
Levon Helm Studios, Inc. (aka Levon Helm’s Barn)
    will stay!

Hey all! So I finally watched a video of the UIC ‘Waves’. Learned a couple things.

1). That actually was the same Phish I saw in Hollywood

2). That Waves is all about Trey looking down at his gear, and letting it rip. seems like he barely looks out at the crowd. Just like many of the big Island jams.

3). Mike is just doing what he does every night. Same as Page.

4). It’s all about Red, feeling comfortable and letting IT flow

5). It’s less to do with Alchemy and Rocket Science than we’ve been lead to believe

    6). Summer Tour? CAN’T WAIT

  10. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

I love when we get bonus tracks in the TTFF

  11. SillyWilly Says:

Mike’s words on Levon are great.

I love when Mike writes. He’s an authentic person.

  12. Robear Says:

Also, there are some west coast phans that feel really disenfranchised by the touring schedule, post Summer 09 Leg 2.

  13. voopa Says:

Thanks for that vid phoamm…AMC is a great violinist, with an outstanding publicist. Remember seeing her on the Grammys w/Foo a couple years back, and elsewhere too…glad she’s diggin TPFV.

Multiple Friday morning pre-work bowls FTW!

  14. Robear Says:

Thanks, as Voopa answers my ‘How early is too early on 420’ question!

  15. SillyWilly Says:

    Robear

Derrick Jensen on Tuesday night in Madison was in many ways life-changing.

He was awesome. Very passionate. Completely improvisational. Jazz with intellectual concepts.

He spoke for 3 hrs and 45 minutes. 2 and a half hours of it was spontaneous Q&A.

He’s a true warrior. And a great testament to the Nor Cal community, no doubt.

    Documentary “Marley” opens today:

Local 420 drama. CU is finally trying to put an end to the annual gathering on the quad.

  18. verno329 Says:

Hey Robear, I’ve got a couple of thumb drives I was gonna see if I could send your way to fill up with some ’10 or ’11 TH vids. Would that be possible? I can toss some other stuff on there first so you can get something too if you like.

  19. Type III Jamming Personality Disorder Says:

stapes, you should read the cnn.com take on that. they go from the CU attempt to curb it to trying to figure out the origins of this mysterious number “420”. pretty hilariously mainstream.

  20. Robear Says:

Silly, I’m so jealous. I have not seen him speak. Must put more effort into it. Jensen did something extremely important for me Silly. He explained why I have the gnawing feeling in my stomach, and how it’s only normal to feel this way.

In summary from my above list:

We COULD have more shows like UIC 1, and less like HB. Someone just needs to keep their head down and do more work.

  21. Robear Says:

Verno, yeah, sorry I ignored your tweet! Send me out, I have a couple new vids. Maybe getting the whole updated drive later too. Have Halloween AC and Greek 2, Blossom 10.

  22. SillyWilly Says:

To supplement the Marley doc, choose the more manic route and check out the Scratch Perry doc released last year called The Upsetter

    fascinating. weird. organic.

Scratch’s music is not what makes the man great, Scratch makes his music.

Superape is purely and simply an extension of Scratch’s being.

    check it.

  23. stapes Says:

    I’ll check that out Tiii

That whole situation is kinda ridiculous on both sides IMO.

  24. SillyWilly Says:

    Robear

    He was super funny, too.

But, re: the gnawing feeling in your stomach

    YES!

DJ talked about how much hate mail he gets. And how he called the cops one time, so if he hurt someone in self-defense a DA couldn’t ask him if he had previously called the cops (my lawyer ass was like: Word)

More importantly, he said, far and away the biggest message from the fan mail is people saying: Thank you. Thank you for helping me see that I’m not insane, our culture is insane.

He said that when he was about 30, he finally emerged from depression when he realized that it was natural to be depressed and anxious considering the shit that is going on.

  25. dorn76 Says:

The grass on the CU quad is going to be greener than ever.
