Tela and MiA, was just talking with my WW bro last night. We both said the same thing! that little Ohio>PA>Ohio run had us thinking of DTE>Blossom>Cincy.

DC>Alpine looks huge too, with the days off before. The whole tour is set to blow……..up

  2. poop goblin Says:

never seen a Trey interview that doesn’t make you want to punch him in the head when it’s finished

i imagine this one is similar stoney?

couldn’t care less about the fucker as a person. or what he has going on in his life. or his desire to conquer broadway next.

just play your fuckin guitar and stop with the fuckin whining

  3. neemor Says:

    Something to ponder:

“Music is a language to describe something that already exists.”
    -Trey

  4. neemor Says:

Or. You can ponder poop goblin’s mediation.

  5. MiA Says:

Every interviewer that is trying to figure out what makes Trey “tick” is (IMO) undoing the thing that made Trey and the band great. That they didn’t give a crap about how they ticked. They just did. It was completely organic.

Asking an artist “What do you think is the biggest component that made you such a successful artist in the 90s?”

It is surely only going to cause them to ruminate on it, and fuck them up. They do best when they don’t think.

I never read the interviews. Wish they didn’t happen actually.

  6. litteringand Says:

What the fuck is Karl Perazzo doing right now? Get his ass out on tour with the boys

  7. purplehumpbackwhale Says:

havent watched the relix interview – is it recent? if so, i got out of there like 4 months too early. i wouldve totally met trey irl, probably even got to talk to him. fuccckkk

  8. MiA Says:

This Ghost in my earhole right now, is truly amazing. This is the anti-“Hampton Comes Alive” sound for sure.

While there is nothing necessarily in this Ghost I haven’t heard, it just totally took me to another spot there. Like the thousand mile stare spot.

  9. MiA Says:

    Niagara Reba up next.

  10. neemor Says:

I would also like to pose the question, what is Whitney Houston doing and how can we get her to sing background vocals on Suzy or Waste?

    Oh.
    Wait….what?
    Oh.

    Too soon.

i want the nerd interview. there is the really cool interview Jerry gave shortly after he recovered from his coma where the interviewer is clearly a huge fan, and obsessive about the GD like we are Phish. He asks specific fanboy questions about bust-outs, favorite shows, etc. At this point, that’s the type of shit i want to hear from Trey. the geeky details about tunes, jams, shows, etc. Jerry’s answers weren’t what the fanboy had wanted, i imagine, but at least they were asked and answered.

  12. MiA Says:

    Happy Phish-iversary Aquaman.

  13. MiA Says:

And T3?! Wow. April 25th, big day.

*Note, most end of April concerts = great.

  14. neemor Says:

“I’ve had all the bells and whistles….of success….but it doesn’t give me….it doesn’t water the soul.”
    -Trey

    Good line.

  15. Mr.Miner Says:

boy, they make a mess of this Mike’s ending though. people would be swearing off Phish in 3.0 if they did this.

^ if they played a Mike’s within a country mile of this version, i don’t think people would be talking about the minorly botched ending.

  16. Robear Says:

Can you cats drop some TT for

Robear, slowest painter in North, East, South or West.

  17. Mr.Miner Says:

MLT is merely a drumbeat and a framework for improv

  18. Robear Says:

    October of 11 @purps

  19. Mr.Miner Says:

MLT is a jam outtake…don’t think they ever tried to recreate any of it…

  20. Jtran Says:

I’ll hop on TT in a bit robear. Want to spin TTFW first

  21. neemor Says:

    Thanks Robear.
The last 2 minutes of part two of that interview actually explain a lot about what we discuss here as far as song selection and being conscious of stage presence, antics, etc.

Being “un-self-conscious” as an attractive quality.
    About being an “entertainer”.
Perhaps if Trey was less conscious of being an entertainer and just going out and playing the music they wanted to, as a band, for the love of the music….we’d have a different feel to recent Phishtory.

    Wondering out loud.

  22. Robear Says:

Poo G, the interview is cheese. And I agree w MiA, that I’d rather they not happen that way. I just thought the responses seemed to shine a light on the music we are getting in 3.0.

  23. MiA Says:

Holy skunkcrap! This Reba at 7 mins! Don’t miss this. I’m not done with it, but up to now this is worth the price of admission.

I need to crawl into Fall ’95 again. This band was absolutely on fiyah.

  24. MiA Says:

“Perhaps if Trey was less conscious of being an entertainer and just going out and playing the music they wanted to, as a band, for the love of the music….we’d have a different feel to recent Phishtory.”

I’ve also said, that so I agree 100%.

Don’t entertain us. Just entertain yourselves. I’m sure that will be more than enough entertainment for us.

  25. tela'smuff Says:

that’s why i put “studio” in parentheses. i understand what MLT is, just pointing out that the DC version is most similar to the Siket version.

and i like to think that’s true about Mike’s, but I recall a magnificent Hood at JB in ’09 that was beloved EXCEPT for the ending.

    ha, anything else Miner?
